We’ve got two issues with our steps. First, the vinyl treads have chipped and cracked. Secondly, the steps are slippery and our golden retriever is afraid of them.

What material have you used that’s durable, functional, looks ok, and is easy to work with and install on the road?

We bought a couple of these floor mats at Walmart in 2018...cut them to fit and stuck them down with double sided carpet tape. They are still in place today. They had a brown color we used back then...the screen shot shows black. If I were to revise them - I would use some "scraps" - actually a few odd pieces of carpet tile I picked up at random jobsites over the years...cut the carpet tile to fit and secure it with screws to the steps. I have used the carpet tiles to line the bottom of cabinets...cut to fit and it stays in place better than the ticky-tack "shelf liner" DW has used on most of our past RVs.
