Is anyone else using the Instant Pot for cooking? I recently (3 months) bought one and will never go back to the old way of cooking. The Instant Pot has also eliminated several other small appliances - so more room.
If you are using the instant pot I would love to share recipes.

I bought one on Black Friday and have used it twice, once for a roast and tonight for baby potatoes. I am still learning the ropes.

We recently went to Florida for the winter and I removed the rice cooker and slow cooker from the trailer and loaded the Instant Pot instead.

While here I store it an upper cabinet, but in transit I put it under the sink. I wanted to avoid a possible problem.

I would love some more recipes!

Just got one a couple weeks ago and we just love it.. Come spring it is definitely replacing the current crock in our 5er.
So far beef roast, stew, rice, eggs and chicken breasts OMG so moist.
So much easier to clean the stainless steel pot afterwords.

Absolutely love our Instant Pot! We got it several months ago and it has been a fantastic addition to our kitchen. We've used it for several things but the carnitas my husband made were unbelievably good! Pot roast, stew, and chili verde were all great.

There are lot of Instant Pot "look alikes", but I think the original is the best. I have a friend who has a similar appliance but it just doesn't seem to do as well as the original.

We got ours from Amazon. Best price around and didn't even have to go out to shop!

Thanks for the link Rohrmann. Yall do know you just cost me a bunch of money because my dear wife will insist she has to have one......LOL

I use mine almost everyday now. I know folks who bought other brands and they just don't seem to be as good or as high quality. I ordered one for each of our daughters and one for the daughter-in-law for Christmas. Walmart had them for $49.00 on Black Friday, but you had to go to the store. I'm not going to fight those crowds. I bought all of mine on Amazon - $69.00. The price has gone up, but I bet if you wait until January the price will come back down.

I will pull together some of my recipes and post them. There are also several YouTube videos on using the pot and different recipes - just in case you want to "see" how it can be used.

More to come!

I spin wrenches ... don't cook much ... sooooooooo what's the difference between Instant Pot and a regular digital display pressure cooker bought say in the last 3 years? Like said, they are at Wally World for $69 - $79 for 3qt and 6qt respectively.

We put a Ninja on board about 2 years ago to replace our crock pot plus to double as an oven and stove. Sounds like the Instant Pot is about the same thing except a pressure cooker. Now with an induction cook top and convection/microwave combination the Ninja doesn't get used that much anymore.

I have other pressure cookers - primarily for canning (much larger capacity). The Instant Pot is designed completely different (made in Canada). The inside pot can be removed, everything can go in at one time, the settings are pre-programmed. I was very skeptical before I purchased. Now, I am a believer. I can cook a roast in 45 minutes - that took 4 hours in the oven and the flavor and texture are excellent. Steamed vegetables maintain their flavor and color. No stiring, no heating up the kitchen, no guessing. I really can't say enough good.

Now I'm wondering if the Instant Pot is just another Ninja, but made by someone else? The Ninja has a removable interior pot and everything is cooked at once, like roast, and different Italian dishes. I suppose what makes either product desirable for full timers is the fact they can replace two or more other appliances, therefore saving precious space.

I guess I got lucky then. I live in Canada, where Black Friday is not as wild as it is in the U.S. I went to Walmart at 6:30, opening time was supposed to be 7 a.m., but they had opened at 6 a.m. I live in a rural area and the Walmart was in a nearby small town. I walked in, got one, did a bit more shopping, and left. No hassles, no crowds. I would not have fought crowds for it.

JandC ... you may have my answer ... we have a 3yr old Bella digital pressure cooker with a removable pot and can fix more than one item at a time as well. True, it doesn't have the stainless steel pot, but I'd guess this all "boils" down to brand loyalty to various designs of the same thing.

One distinct difference we find from any of our old crock pots is the stainless steel pot on the Instant Pot is a breeze to clean up. The old crock always seemed to have a place or two that developed baked on areas that required quite a bit of soaking/scouring at times.

These are both very common sentiments of Instant Pot users... including us! We got a line on an 8 qt so picked it up as an addition to our 6 qt. Amazing little thing.

Curious if any of you Instant Pot, or similar, users have measured the power draw on the units. I'm in the deciding mode still as trying to see if it would be viable to use while boondocking. The spec sheets say 1000W but curious if the power cycles while it maintains the heat/pressure so the overall draw isn't as high. We have used out Crock Pot boon docking but the perk there is it is a lower draw and much of the draw period is during the day where my solar is usually generating excess as the batteries top off mid-day. The Instant Pot probably use less average power overall but it will be a burst late in the day when the sun is setting.
