Lorraine and I have been full timing in our Monty since October 20th 2003 and we can honestly say we still luv it.

How long you been full timing? --32 months

On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being best, how do you rate your experience? --Like anything else some times a 3 but most often a 9 or even 10

How long do you plan on continuing full timing? --As long as our health allows.

Phyllis and I have been full timing since January 2006, We have loved every minute of it. Definintely a "10". Our living costs are about 1/2 of what they were, We were able to locate only 2.2 miles from her work, and she ony has 2 years to go for full retirement!!! WE LOVE IT!!! We will continue for as long as we can and then get a small apartment and bore each other all day long with our stories!!

Started in July '03 36 months.

Rating on the Ten scale (almost never give 10s or 1s).....about 7+.

Plans? We are sort of, kind of, now and then, looking for a place to set up as a home base. No hurry, but want to be ready when circumstances will not allow a lot of travel. Once we decide on a place, we will continue to travel, but probably not full time, and in a smaller "rig".

Full timing for 69 months. Love the lifestyle. Living is cheaper than when in our stick house. We are healthier because we're outside more. I'd rate our living at 10 despite flat tires (which would happen even if we were'nt full time. We plan on going until our health won't allow us to go any more. Presently, we are planning at least 6 more years at which time I'll be 80. As long as I have my sight, hearing and reflexes, we'll continue.

Great idea, Glenn! I've wondered the same thing and hope you'll keep a tally.

I've been full-timing solo since February 2003.

Basically, I love the lifestyle and feel that I'm living my dream. However, I'd have to give it a 9 because I occasionally miss things in a stick house like a garbage disposal, dishwasher, garage, patio cover that's windproof, etc. I also miss being able to join a book club, have the same neighbors every week, and go to my favorite hairdresser/doctor/dentist whenever I need them. On the other hand, I'm making new friends every week, as well as crossing paths with continuing friends and sharing stories of our adventures. And I could go on forever about all the great things I enjoy about full-timing - but I won't, or you won't have space for anyone else's response!

I plan to continue full-timing as long as I'm still enjoying it, finding new places to explore, and am healthy enough to handle it.

P.S. When I *do* hang up the keys, I hope it's at the Escapees CARE center in Livingston, TX, where I can get as much medical/assistance support as needed. And I hope my last check is to the funeral home - and that it bounces!

As you know, we're not because I still have to work and make money. But someday we may consider it, right now neither of us can imagine not having a "home" to come back to. We can see ourselves gone for months on end but always a place to come back to. Is this something that all you fulltimers thought about prior to moving in that direction?

We've been fulltiming for nine years. We started out in a 19 foot Dutchman travel trailer and are now in our second Montana product a 325 FKBS Mountaineer travel trailer. We spend most of our time in Nevada and work about 38 weeks a year dealing blackjack, winters in Laughlin, and summers at Lake Tahoe. Living fulltime in the Mountaineer has been a "10". We enjoy displaying our photos on our webpage, and have recently started a blog. We both have gotten our ham radio lic. and I haven't been into a gift shop since. We also enjoy Dutch Oven cooking.Plans this fall include a two month trek back to Wisconsin to visit family and friends. We also have to cut through South Dakota to renew our driver's lic. I'm an avid reader of the MOC although I post very little I can't tell you how many times I've used the forum to solve problems and learn.............

Kimmrg and I have been fulltiming since September of 2004. I think…Maybe 2003. Kimmrg will fix this, I’m guessing. (She’s at the beach with her brother’s family, today, and I’m home using her laptop because my PC needs a new hard drive.)

She and I love it. I have my PC, (will have, as soon as I fix it,) and DirecTV, and she has all her crafts and hobbies. She misses our old brick & stick home more than I do. Mainly because it was our dream home overlooking Fairbanks. She misses having close friends nearby, to visit frequently. That’s one reason she loves M.O.C. She’ll miss her family when we head out of Alabama, and don’t go up to Minnesota to see the rest of it.

I’m carefree. I’m estranged from my old homestead family, (living 25 years in Alaska with so few visitors tends to do that,) and my kids and grandkids will just have to deal with me being more e-mail communicative than in-person communicative. That’s cool for me, though, because my hearing’s bad enough to miss so much that “being there” holds no real charm.

As long as things work, (trailer, vehicle, and body-wise,) I think we can just keep this up forever.

We started out in a 40ft Teton in 1987,it was a great RV but just too big to haul around. Picked up our Montana June 6th 2003 and have been traveling for 3 years.How long will we do this? just as long as we can and then park on a piece of land for the remainder of our time. I do not miss anything about our stick house which we sold in 1986. How would I rate our full timing,I will have to give it a big 10+

One year yesterday. Rating is a nine for the same reasons gypsy has. We will do this as long as the Man Above allows us to.

Marilyn and I have been full timing it for 2 years, since July 2004 and we love it. We will be doing this for a few years yet, or until our health dictates otherwise. When that time comes, will probably rent or buy a condo in the South like FL, but am also thinking of something smaller for 2-3 months travel to the midwest during summer months.

So far, I'd have to rate our experiences a 10. No regrets after selling our stick house. Would do it all over again, but probably try to figure out how to start a few years earlier.

We started fulltiming on 16 October 2005 two days before the closing on our stick house in MN. We spend six months of the year in Florida with our oldest grandchildren and six months in Illinois with our youngest. We both still have to work because my military pension doesn't start until my 60th birthday, but we wouldn't give up this lifestyle for all the money in the world.

We feel like we are on an extended vacation and really don't miss our stick house at all. We have our garden in Illinois and our potted plants in Florida.

The only thing Karen misses is decorating.

We plan to do this for as long as we can. Hopefully, it will be for at least the next twenty years or longer. Can't really rate our experiences as we only move twice a year, but right now we really love it.

What's the date today? We just started full-timing June 2.

Probably an 8.5. We are still learning. Every day I have a "duh" episode.

We are going to full-time until Sylvia gets tired of it. That was the deal.....

We have been fulltiming for 1 yr now. We don't move around as much as others but have a home base in Bastrop TX for winters and we volunteer at our church campgrounds in Washington (Samish Island) for the summers. The tripping is fall and spring. We plan to do this as long as we can. I would rate it an 8, mainly because of having to find accomodations when the rig is being repaired. That is a downer.

Ellie and I since June 1st, 2004. For our budget I use June 1st as our FFY (fulltiming fiscal year).
We give it a "10" and plan on continuing till we
see everything.

Leon and I are new at this. We started 6 weeks ago. We travel due to Leon's job as a traveling physical therapist assistant. He has been doing this for 1 1/2 years. We stayed in apartments that were arranged by his company. This did not always work out very well and we decided we were too old to pack and move so much. We think this will be much better. We certainly have enjoyed the people that we have met. We were in the Valley for the winter but in an apartment. All those people in RV's seemed to really be enjoying themselves. Normally, we will be somewhere for 3 months but this assignment has not worked out that way. We will be leaving Sherman, Texas this weekend but not sure where we will be going yet. We feel that we are having one great big adventure seeing all these places.
