How Long to Pre-Cool an RV Fridge Before First Trip

We are leaving on very first trip and currently our fridge is not plugged in. How long should we start fridge and load it before we leave. How long will battery power last powering the fridge and still being able to close up the ca m per and leave. Thanks Jaso

It depends on the fridge type/model. It really helps if you tell us the year, make, and model of your Montana along with specifics about the fridge config (Absorption or Residential or 12V), power supply (120V, 12V battery (amp hours), and/or solar.

If it is the 'old' rv type fridge, it takes maybe 12 hours to cool down. ANother thing to look for is if the rig is level. They are supposed to be less than 3 degrees slope one way or the other - front to back or side to side. You can look it up.
