We have never, as far as I know, turned on our remote, today while looking for something I must have hit a button on our remote as our door side scare light and step light were on. The only way that I could turn them off was by using the remote, since I didn't know how I turned the remote on I had to play with the buttons and hit the correct button to turn off the lights. Is there a tutorial on how to use the remote? I'm sure it is easy, but since I know nothing about it , so the thoughts of accidentally retracting the slides or raising the landing gear has made put the remote the way. Our dealer never told us how to use this so I have never had any experience with this.

My remote has some instructions on the back of it. You do not have to turn it on to turn the lights on, just push the "light" button.

To operate the awning, landing gear and slides you must first hit the LCI button then the On button, on my remote the on and light are the same button. To turn the remote off you again hit the LCI then On, otherwise it will turn itself off after a few minutes.

If you never intend to use it I would take the battery out of it which would disable all it's functions.

I use mine all the time for slides and landing gear. Not everyone likes them, me I am sold on them.

We used ours till we added level-up and then since it didn't work on the landing gear anymore we quit using it. Just pulled the battery out and saved it for when or if we sell the rig.

I wonder why your landing gear does not work now Dick, I have the 6 point level up installed at the factory and my remote still controls the landing gear. I use it all the time for hooking up and unhooking as well as operating the slides.
Removing the battery is wise, they do leak and can destroy the remote if that happens..

We also have factory installed level up and our remote operates the landing gear also.

We park the Montana far away from the remote which is in the truck. There is a parking lot next to the Montana. Once or twice a month the scare light comes on. Someone must have a key fob for their car that uses the same frequency. So you may find your scare light comes on even with the batteries out of the remote.

Just to clarify, my level-up was installed at Lippert's factory, not Keystone's.
