Hello All - We just purchased a MHC 295RL and are going full-time at the end of May. The next few weeks are for practicing :) as we are new to RVing but excited for the adventure to begin!

Welcome to the forums and congrats on getting your High Country. The 295RL is a very popular model. I'm sure you will enjoy it as you travel and explore. I wish you well in your future endeavors as a full timer. Hopefully, you have been able to use your camper extensively before hitting the road full time. It takes a little "time" to flush things out to make an RV functional and to personalize it. Don't be surprised if you end up shifting things around, moving things to different compartments, and even tossing things out you eventually realize you don't need and will never use. Over packing and overloading is easy to do when first starting out. Over time, you learn how to downsize, but then the camper gets filled up with "junk" .... like souvenirs and "stuff" you purchase along the way. About once a year, we toss out all the "stuff" we've accumulated. We have a garage full at home of "stuff" we've collected, pulled out of the camper every year, boxed up, and put on a shelf at home because we just didn't have the heart to part with it completely. But it was necessary to eventually remove all the unused stuff from the camper. I think this balance of what is actually needed and what is "wanted" are worlds apart, and RV's have only "so much space." So, don't be surprised if things go, come, and go again.....

Have fun, enjoy your new adventures, and most of all.... in everything you do ... remember ... you do NOT have to be in a hurry. You have the rest of your life to "do it." So, keep safety your first priority! Do not get in a rush for anything! Especially in traffic! Arrive safe and have fun! Happy camping!

Congratulations we are Full Timers and are loving it. We are currently doing the National Park circuit. You should attend one of the many Montana Owners Club Rallies. Where you will learn all about your new Rig and Meet a ton of wonderful folks on the road just like you!

My best advice is to practice turning and backing up. My current RV took about a year before I stopped running over the curb on corners. It was only 4 feet longer than my older one. Left turns, you always have to stay as far right in the turn lane and then drive almost as far forward as possible. Then turn left as hard as you can - almost 90 degrees. Right turns are similar.
I did a little practice in a park parking lot - or a church lot. Good luck.

Congrats and welcome to the forum, theirs a lot of good information and good people here.
