Hercules H-901

I’m sure he has had good luck with them but he isn’t using them the way we would. You don’t see cattle trailers spending all day on a hot interstate at 65 mph with 12000 pounds on them.

Well, I appreciate the response, but not sure if that helps at all? Does this mean that you have used these and they are not OK in our application? They are G rated 14 ply tires, so why would they be any different than any other G rated tire?

I've seen post on those tires, but the poster has never returned to give a report good or bad, so you might be on your own, while many good posts and results on the Sailun 637s

Sooooo...... I do just a Google search and Sailun are made in China and Hercules are made by Cooper Tire in the USA. Hmmmmmmm......

Sadly "Made in USA" really doesn't hold the weight that that declaration did 20 years ago. You have to look closely to see if it was made in the USA or "ASSEMBLED" in the USA. But I'm getting a bit far off the tire subject here. I've used Hercules truck tires in the past. They are pretty stiff as in ride comfort but have good tread life. When you get right down to it, Hercules and Cooper tires partner in the manuf of tires.

I used them on our second Montana. No problem except at least back then, special order for a replacement. Was very happy with them. Did run hard.

Dang that's a great price for those G rated trailer tires. About the same as the Sailuns. I'll have to remember those.

I had Hercules installed after the original factory one blew (Ranier) when traveling. That was more than 3 years ago and thousands and thousands of miles ago too. I've been very pleased with mine. I did concrete curb skid one and the side wall had a slight tear. I did have it replaced with another tire even though the tire shop told me it was still OK. I did not want to take any chances and since I've had not a hint of issue at all. I've been very pleased. Tread is still good, wear is even, tires still look good. And all 4 are holding air at exactly 100 psi. I check them often now.

Here's the stats on mine as written on the actual tire:

I was going to put the "85" series on but blew a tire this summer due to road hazard and the dealer in Silver City NM could only get the SAILUN tires. $960 out the door

I’ve been running Hercules tires for three years now. They’ve been to So. Florida and back to Idaho 3 times. Out tonMichigan and down to So. Arizona. I guess IVe got my money’s worth out of them. Oh and they are going to go to Michigan and then to So Florida again in. November. They are made by cooper. Where? Who the **** knows.

Thank you everyone, I am going to go with these tires! I appreciate all the input, especially the real world experience you have shared! Love this forum!!!

You’ve chosen an excellent tire and I would buy size ST235/85x16 even if you currently run a size 235/80x16

You will get about 400 lbs per tire more load capacity at 4400 inflated at 110 psi cold

Excellent tire..as are the Sailuns I currently run

Make sure you get the 901 series ST tire … they make the same tire in same size that’s not ST

I found the Hercules H-901's at a local dealer, I am buying (5). Can any of you hook me up with the best way to add TPMS to these? I have a 2022 2500HD and not sure if I should buy the GM sensors or the ones on eBay? I know the GM ones are more expensive than the ones on eBay, but I am willing to pay more if I only have to do it once. :)

Yes, I run Hercules tires on my 2016 3711FL

I retired to a cattle ranch and, like you, had great recommendations on Hercules by the local cattlemen. I've probably put 15,000 miles or so on them and they've performed well.

Full disclosure, I had two blowouts but we finally diagnosed that as a cracked rim. Blew the first one then put an identical tire on the same rim before we realized what was going on. I'm not going to put that on the tires but fealt I should disclose fully my experiences.

A lot of use use this: https://www.amazon.com/Truck-Systems-Technology-Pressure-Monitor/dp/B07FKTH136/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=1DO4CPJ6BGRJ4&keywords=tst+tire+pressure+monitoring+system&qid=1660232298&s=automotive&sprefix=tst+t%2Cautomotive%2C154&sr=1-1-spons&psc=1&smid=A2K2KU3IZY4HNM&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzSTM1OTdHUTdPNzkzJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwOTc4NjkyMUQyQlpQUTdaVUJWSyZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNDk3OTcxTkk3QUI5UFEzMUEyJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==

In my case, I also use it to monitor my truck tires. My system has been working great for over ten years.

Tires that will last and perform the best on your Montana

I just had to replace all 4 tires on my Montana - you should look at BOAR TIRE (https://www.boarwheel.com/) or (https://www.facebook.com/boarwheel/)

These are heavy-duty wheels/rims and 19.5 tires. Similar to what is used on commercial delivery trucks. We happened to be in Rapid City SD when we found that our tires were showing the steel belts (not good). We visited with a few folks about where to get tires, most every one talked about how good Boar Tires were. We even got unsolicited comments from people after we had them installed - about what a good choice they were. We just finished a 30 day 6,500 mile trip from the Midwest to the Pacific coast and back. They performed great! You should take a look at them.
