Grace and I purchased a 2016 Montana 3711FL with the window in the front cap this past weekend from Camping World of Oxford, Alabama. This will become our full time home when we place our sticks and bricks home on the market in March 2017. Now that I know what weight my fiver is, I am looking for the right truck to pull it. I am partial to Fords and am pretty sure I am looking for a F350 4x4 Diesel dually and would appreciate any advise as to what production years to steer away from. Anyway, this forum appears to be a very active with owners participation. It was one of the reasons I was very comfortable with my purchase choice.

Welcome from Arizona (only 112.5f) here today. You are very wise buying the rig then the truck. I have a 2015 F350 King Ranch 4X4 SRW and love it. If you are going to do a lot of traveling do get the King Ranch much better seats and ride. Heated and AC seats. For your rig a dually is what you I would get. I am on the edge of needing one but will stay wth what I have. At least that's what DW said!

You will love this forum great people and lots of good information and advice on here.

Welcome to this great Forum and congrats on the new Monty:D as far as the F350 for sure stay anyway from ANY 6.0 liter Powerstroke and the 6.4 is questionable as well, they can be "bulletproofed" for a few grand and made good but why bother but if you can swing a 2011+ 6.7 Powerstroke f350 by all means Jump on it they are great and this is coming from a Loyal Duramax/Allison guy :)

0n our fourth ford diesel. Ford came out in 2011 with the 6.7 diesel. Stick with the 6.7 and you will do fine. Great reliable engine.

Congratulations on your new rig, and I hope it brings many years and miles of wonderful experience. I just posted on the Ford Truck Enthusiast forum that I absolutely love our truck, and the only thing I would look at is a 2017 of the very same truck. Most comfortable vehicle we have ever owned and we're in Colorado at 10,200 feet pulling nearly 16k and the truck doesn't act like it's even there. Recommend long bed DRW and you won't have regrets, particularly if you're full timing.

Welcome to the forum! I'll stay out of the truck issue, but wish you many years of wonderful memories with your new rig.

Welcome to the greatest support forum for your Montana! Congrats on heading toward full time status, you will love it. We started with a new F350 6.7 and loved it when we went full time. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the big three manufacturers. I had SRW instead of a dually and the short bed. I got by but by the time our first year was up we had added almost 1,800 in weight plus of course we had to spend the extra for a sliding hitch. To be perfectly honest if I was starting all over again I would go with a 1-ton dually and be done with it.

Congrats and welcome to the MOC family. We tow with a 1 ton duramax/Allison and are extremely pleased with this set up. Ennjoy!
