Hard-wired surge protector location

I have 2013 FB3900. If the shore power is plugged in at the rear, where can I hard-wire my 50A surge protector.?

I have one that the dealer installed in the wall behind the circuit breaker area (behind the closed wall by the door on our model). They ran the short wire to a LCD display for it in the stairway to the bedroom.

Our Progressive unit is similarly installed.

We love having all the readouts on the stairway wall, including the solar panel readouts and the remote start for the Onan generator as well as it's hour usage meter.

I mounted mine behind the circuit breaker area also, gaining access by removing a panel in the basement. I mounted the readout in the coat closet, so it would be out of the way.

Even tho we now have an SOB, I did a similar install. Mounted the EMS on the back wall of the battery compartment next to the transfer switch with the remote readout in the closet with all the other controls.

I mounted mine behind the removable panel on the stairs to the bedroom with the remote readout on the wall. Easy access if necessary.

This was how I did mine. Simple enough to do myself. I turned off all power sources and took my time. Good instructions came with the unit.

Forgot something on my install. I believe the dealer cut a hole in the back of the closet above the panel box. Then when done just put a plastic square panel (about 10-12 inches each side) over the hole. I think this plastic thing is for access panels to places like the washer pipes in the bedroom.

Thanks everyone. I mounted it behind the wall in the basement after the transfer switch (I have no built-in generator). Then I cut a viewing hole to see the status if need be. BTW, at the factory, the "line" and "load" were reversed. Make sure you test which line is the source.
