Can anyone suggest a campground in close proximity to the south rim of Grand Canyon that would make it easy to drive to North rim?

We were just there this past month. The National Park on the South Rim has it's own campground. There's no fast way to get from the South Rim to the North Rim. It takes a few hours to drive around.

Ha HA - fast drive to the Roth Rim. Sorry, I couldn't resist! The North rim is WAY off the main N-S highway.

Many years ago…well, 2005, we stayed at the Williams KOA…it’s a. DRIVE to the south rim back, and a LONG DRIVE and BACK from the north rim. We were trying to cover lots of ground in a short time (still had 1 kid at home)…and I suppose we achieved the goal. Probably would not do it that way now.

You might be better off going to the North rim and staying there. Here is one campground. It is North Rim campground 568 Campground Rd, North Rim, AZ 86052. We live in Western AZ and there is NO fast way to get from the S rim to the N rim. The road is very hilly and curvey with a 35 MPH speed limit. It is not a short distance and can be very conjested at times.

P.S. there is no bridge yet to make it easy or fast. It is my understanding that AZDOT has no plans to build one in the near future. ;)
