Has anyone had to replace their glass in the shower, or is it better to just put in a curtain rod?

I don’t think you could find numbers to substantiate this - but it seems to me that most folks take the top header crossbar out and maybe the sill track and go with a rod and curtain…because the glass replacement panels are expensive, and some just don’t like the glass.

If our glass ever breaks, we will replace it with a curved shower curtain.

You might want to check out the Nautical shower doors. Have several friends that have put that door in and the really like it. It is a plastic folding door and you order it by size from what I understand.

Cut a swim noodle to size and put it in the lower shower track while traveling and the doors won’t move and break. Easy and cheap fix.

Besides the swim noodle we also run a spring loaded small curtain rod down the middle of the noodle and set it in the lower shower track, Jim!

Our shower glass broke pretty early on. We evidently didn’t latch it well enough and we hit some major bumps. There was a sticker on the glass so we contacted the company and got the same model. Was able to pick-up to avoid shipping. We had to get the entire kit but only replaced the top rail and glass.

After removing the old top rail and glass, I built extra tall “saw horses” next to the shower to hold up the rail while we hung the glass. Then my son-in-law and I lifted each end while my daughter was in the shower to line up the bottom.

We now wrap a towel on the rail with a bungee cord as a secondary stop.

Thanks for the info, I think I will use a shower curtain. I already took out the 2 pieces of glass that were not broken.

Our latch in our 2025 3231ck does not hold. The glass didn’t break, but it got slammed around so hard it broke one of the handles off. 😡😞. I’ve been securing the latch with a ponytail holder. So far no problems since doing my fancy “fix”
