I realize there is an Insurance topic area, it just seem to get many "visitors" and I wanted to get a more rounded response. I realize this question has been asked in general terms before, I have a bit more of a detailed question: Is there a company that will insure my 5th-wheel as my residence and not like my truck??? Everyone gathers info based on a drivable vehicle and obviously a 5th-wheel is not drivable. Before anyone asks or comments, my vehicle carrier farms out their RV insurance and it is very expensive. Thanks.

We have been with Good Sam for 20 plus years- They have experience as underwriters for those of us who fulltime without a stick and bricks domicile- Our experience with the coverage they offer has been very pleasant- JMHO- Don

We use Blue Sky. We get full timers coverage and replacement cost. There are a few companies out there that understand the full time lifestyle and you need to make sure what you have is one of those. Built in blanket liability is usual a key since most folks get that from their S&B.

We have Progressive, with Flo, full coverage with replacement cost. Have gotten quotes several times through GoodSam which have been several time higher than Progressive. Now in their defense, I think someone isn't doing their research on our SOB and are quoting it as a MH.

Just curious, do they cover something like temporary lodging if you damage the vehicle and need a repair, or maybe if you have a complete loss???

We have only been full time since March and have not had any claims, so once I have a claim I could change my opinion. We got advise on the forum about different companies and different ways to go. Ended up with Progressive for 2 main reasons. Number One: they were a lot cheaper for better coverage. Number Two: It was extremely easy to deal with them once by phone and set everything else up on-line. Zero snail mail! As an added bonus we had them quote insurance on my F-350 and the DW's new Explorer. They provided us better coverage for about 40% less! We had been with our previous auto insurance company over 20 years with no claims.

I'm not a full timer, but we're with Blue Sky too. They where half the cost of Good Sam / GMAC / MIC.

I had Progressive for five years one accident and they paid off pronto, but would not cover us said we didn't tell them we were full timer and that in a deal breaker they wouln't cover us. I got Good Sam's now.

Blue Sky will not cover us since they consider of "stationary" in the State of Texas.....bummer.

After USAA jacked up my vehicle insurance I changed back to Geico for everything from S&B to RV to the vehicles.....better insurance and cheaper....Think I will just stay with them now...
