I recently purchased the Gen-Y 5" offset gooseneck hitch for my new 2025 GMC 2500 Denali, that has the OEM puck system. I bought it to give more clearance from the bottom of the cap to the top of my fender rails, and to move the hitch back 5" for an even better turning radius. The front of the mount uses the factory two puck openings, which is more for stability, the center of the mount goes into the factory gooseneck ball opening and locks into place. The mount does not come with safety chain attachments, and that I purchased from GM with the factory Curt gooseneck kit.

Yesterday, I hooked up the trailer, and towed for the first time with this new setup to Fiddler's Cove by Coronado Island, CA. A good 124 mile drive. This new setup is paired with my Reese Gooseneck, and the drive was considerably smoother over the regular setup, I had used previously with this same truck. The shifting of the hitch back 5" was the reason for the better ride. As expected, I gained a couple inches in side clearance with my bed, I have more room between the tailgate and the front of my trailer, and plenty of turning radius. Very, very happy with the new setup. This hitch is available for GM/Chevy, Ford, and Dodge trucks with the OEM puck system. My model is this one from etrailer.com. for $521.97, Delivered to my home in 1 day.

looks like a great system. i now use a very heavy pullrite and thinking of changing. i am concerned about the turning radius when backing into a rv park spot. i realize you have to be careful. but how is the clearance using the offset? i have a ford f350 short bed truck. looking at a reese 20000 goosebox also thanks al

Maybe I’m missing something. The puck system puts the hitch slightly forward of the axle and includes a “socket” to thread a ball for a gooseneck. This new system moves the ball either over the axle or just rearward of the axle ? I can see the better tailgate to RV clearance and a greater turning radius clearance between the RV cap and truck cab. (Personally, if you need 90 degrees clearance, I think you did something wrong)
Is this relocated ball position better for pin weight ?
