Member Title: Landing gear
Members are troubleshooting a front jack on a 2019 330RL that jams under load but operates freely when removed. Swapping motors ruled out a motor issue. Several RVers report similar problems, with one detailing a step-by-step disassembly and lubrication process using white lithium or marine wheel bearing grease, as recommended by Lippert. Regular lubrication (2–3 times a year) is advised, though most admit they only grease the screw when issues arise.

I have a front jack on my '19 330RL that's acting up. I took it off, ran it up and down and all seemed OK. re-installed it and as soon as it's loaded it's jamming. Swapped left and right motors and that didn't help so it's not a bad motor. Thoughts, suggestions? Anybody have any experience with rebuilding one of these?

I have had exactly the same issue. It would bind up under load. Remove the drive motor, remove the jack from the unit, remove the adjustable foot and then remove the pin connecting the screw so the outer tubing can be removed. You may now run the screw back and forth applying grease to the screw. Lippert rep recommended I use white lithium grease, but some saw marine wheel bearing. Manufacturers recommend greasing 2 or 3 times a year. I have yet to find anyone that ever lubricates the screw unless they have issues.

I had a front jack break when raising the trailer up. Was never told by anyone that there was a zert on top of jack that needed greasing. Could not repair old jack so bought new one and installed. Lubed both OLD jack and new one. Thought I new my trailer better after 13 yrs.

Also have a 330RL (2018 )Ground Control 3.0....No problems with jacks....but I don't want any either! (Just today finished replacing the converter, intermittent charging) Lippert documents for maintenance only say...."
it is recommended to spray exposed leveling jack rods with a
dry silicone lubricant every 3 months for protection." I would think a screw jack could use some lub once in a while...but where??

Exact same issue here. I totally disassembled the jack and discovered that the main screw was shaving itself during use so that thin spirals of metal were jamming the operation. I eventually got new front landing gear and haven't had a problem since.

I have drilled two holes thru the outer square tubing. One a couple inches down and the other about 6 inches down. When the jacks are extended by more than 6-7 inches you can lubricate the screw with the club of choice. I tape over the hole until next time.

Lub, not club.

Lube is a good idea and can help. However, if your jacks are self-destructing, as mine were, then lubing won't help. Even after totally disassembling mine and removing the shrapnel and lubing the works it would eventually jam up again. So for mine, new legs were the fix. If you can source just the legs then your motors might be just fine. YMMV
