Fridge Cooling Mod

This appears to be a nicely finished fan assembly. But it is a lot of $$$. Some type of circulating fan is a good idea. I have a two fan assembly from Amazon but it doesn't work so well in a Norcold (finding a 12V hot lead is a problem). I plan to pick up a AAA battery powered fan in Quartzsite next month for around $10. The members who bought them last year are very pleased with them.

The fan assembly looks like it would certainly circulate the air, however it also appears to cover the existing light. If I have to live with blue lights in my fridge I am not at all interested no matter how well it works.

What I hate about these advertisements is they give very little information about the product itself but make all kinds of claims.

Carl is it possible for you to get the 12V from the door switch on your fridge. I have not looked at mine to see how difficult it might be to get that to the fan. Since this product must be 12V they must get it from somewhere but again not enough information for my liking.

I don't seem to have had any problem with my fridge cooling to date but if I did I would find a 12V computer fan (dime a dozen) and figure a way to mount that in the fridge before paying that kind of money. Many will think it is the best thing since the invention of the fridge itself I am sure.

I had a thin dual fan that attached to the fins with alligator clips on my last fridge and the wire was snaked down the drain hose and connected to the 12v source on the control board I got it on Ebay and it worked well and only 20 bucks but my new Norcold works great without anything but that one looks pretty big and I think would take up space

We bought a small battery fan from the fire guy, but we haven't used it in a couple years. Even with winter in AZ and summer in KS the frig really hasn't needed any help.

I guess I still have some "roughin' it" in me. The stuff I need cold, right away, goes in a cooler with ice. This may be an interesting upgrade to the full-timers, but for weekend warriors like me, a cooler does just fine.
