In the past days, we've been working to update the forum to a new software platform and we've been offline. Welcome back! The new forum software is powered by Xenforo and there are some new features and functions. We're still tweaking things so please be patient.

There are many new features and I encourage you to wander around, test things out and then visit your profile and do some updating. Please keep in mind that changes and adjustments are still being made and so views will become more refined over the next few days.

Update your profile:

• Consider uploading a new avatar (little pic next to your posts). The new site accommodates larger images and old avatars are looking a little tired. Avatars will automatically resize - choose a good one!
• Update your signature if needed
• Add a profile banner - larger image that displays on your profile page
• Review your signature - you may need to update it.

Mobile viewing
The site runs well on small screens. Try it out on the road, and use your regular login - no app required. Set a bookmark for the site on mobile for fast access and look for push notifications (coming soon) to stay up to date.

Thread marking:
The forum remembers what you have already read and will display new unread threads as bolded or when you click into an ongoing thread, takes you to unread content BUT: You may need to Mark a forum "read" for this to work correctly moving forward. The conversion could not "remember" what you have already seen and so initially all threads may appear as unread. To do this, open a forum and look for the link at the top of the list of threads to "Mark Read". Alternatively, use the 'Mark Forums Read' link at the top of the page to mark all.

There are many things still being tweaked and fiddled with and you will continue to see some changes but we wanted to get back online as soon as possible - thanks in advance for your patience.

Display names can't be duplicates. If a display name is associated with another email address (and the address is yours, I can consolidate the accounts and then edit the display name as needed. If you are MandK on another board, his the contact link at the bottom of the page and ask for some help. We can merge these accounts under one login.

I only have 1 email address. I am MandK on MOC and Keystone forum and Mark-wny on Riverstone forum. Now it looks as though I am Mark-wny on all 3 and I got a notice that you responded to my post over on keystone, not MOC. They are all rv life… just change them all to MandK if you can

I can change BUT:

Mark-wny - Has a gmail address
MandK - Has a Comcast address

Are they both yours?

These are technically two separate accounts and so you will have to decide which login you want to retain. The accounts would be merged at that point.

I have no Comcast address, never have. I log into all of these forums using my email address which is gmail. It’s the only address I have, I don’t know what else to say.
I can tell you that my Irv2 screen name has not been somehow changed, it’s still MandK. Only the Riverstone forum was different screen name because when I signed up there several months ago, it wouldn’t let me use MandK as a screen name.
You can leave it Mark-wny I guess. I’ll just sign all of my posts as Camper formerly known as MandK

Prior to conversion my profile was M&M. The M&M7 profile doesn't have any of my information that I had updated. Signature is missing. Will my profile be returned to M&M?

A few years ago, the never used old M&M profile that is currently showing was deleted by the moderator. Then they let me set up to use it. That is my recollection.

• Search – The Search function searches the MOC, but also Searches the “For Sale” and “Albums” portions of all the RV life Forums. Example: A Search on “Remote Control” returns posts containing these terms from the For Sale section of the Forest River Forum (2 posts) and a photo from RVForum.net albums
• Location Display in Avatar. Now only Location (i.e. State) shows despite City being filled in (old software showed both)

1. So - where or how do you access a member's "public profile"? When I click on Carl's photo (icon??) it only brings up the same basic info that already appeared with his post...none of the gritty details! I have not tried other search methods yet to find a public profile, so maybe this question is premature.

2. Just curious - when a new member signs up - does the sign-up screen force you to enter YEAR and MODEL of the RV + year and model of the tow vehicle. I realize everybody might not want to create a signature with all of that info shown with a post - but if the info was collected at sign-up, then it could be found in the public profile section of the member. If l had a penny for every time the 2nd post to a member's question is "What is the year and model of your Montana?"...I could put another $25 on my Starbucks card.

Edit: Janet - I will SEND YOU a $25 Starbucks card if you could pull the registration info thing off!!

Mike: I think I figured that one out. Just Click on the User Name (just above the Site Team label) in the popup box and it will take you to another screen with more info about me (or whomever you looking at)

Well...do you click on "follow" to get more details? I am new to facebook and any other social media, and I am not sure what "follow" means.

Also - I just noticed there is no "preview" button. The preview is where I generally correct spelling for 10 words and correct punctuation...my mother was an english teacher! Ooops - just found it...upper right corner of this pane - paper with a maginify glass.

I didn't take the time to edit the picture with an arrow. In the popup resulting from clicking on my Avatar - click on the white lettered "Carl n Susan" just above the blue site team in the white box. Clear as mud?
