Forklift Damage

I had a spring break on my 3160RL and took it to a local shop for repair. They ran their forklift into it. They have a buddy of theirs that claims he can fix it. I am not so sure about the ability to match the finish. Questions:
1. Is the cap
finish gel coat or paint?
2. If gel coat should the entire cap be painted?
3. Has anyone had experience with this type of repair?

Thanks.

I suggest taking it to a real body shop and have them fix correctly and send the mechanic shop the bill. That’s what they have insurance for
I just spoke to the shop and convinced them to take it to a real body shop. It is going to a shop that we have used before and they do good work, so now I’m a little happier. I post follow up pictures of the final product.

They should be able to fix that. I would have the whole cap painted. Even if the paint was matched perfectly the unpainted part and the painted part will fade differently.
Sorry about the accident. Accidents do happen to everyone. I’ve always said little accidents don’t hurt anything and big ones kill people. This one was somewhere in the middle.

Mine got hit in my storage lot by an unknown vehicle. Took it to a body shop that specifically does rv work. I was told the front cap is painted. Mine is a 2025. I believe they repainted all the dark gray part and blended the cream part. They replaced all the decals and leds on the front cap.

I agree with the threads that support taking it to a body shop that does these types of repairs. I had a hole punched in mine and had the shop's buddy fix it. The fix came unfixed and I had to have the hole repaired again! Nothing like doing it twice!

Like it never happened. The shop had it repaired by a professional body shop. And did not charge me for the original work I needed, 4 springs, Moryde rubber inserts & repack wheel bearings. I tried to pay for the parts but they insisted.
