Michael and Suzanne asked who to contact about arriving September 4 and staying at the fairgrounds before the official early arrival date. A member replied that a Grand Design rally is scheduled immediately before this rally, so the fairgrounds are not expected to have openings until the first early arrival date of September 8.

Members suggested nearby alternatives to bridge the gap, including Shipshewana South, North Trace RV Resort, Indian Lakes Campground in Wolcottville, and Potato...

WE WILL BE COMING IN ON THE 4TH OF SEPTEMBER. WHO IS THE BEST PERSON TO CONTACT ABOUT GETTING A SPOT AT THE FAIRGROUNDS TO SET UP UNTIL THE EARLY ARRIVAL DATE BECOMES OPEN?
THANKS,
MICHAEL AND SUZANNE COYNER

Michael and Suzanne,

There is a Grand Design rally right before our rally so the fairgrounds will not have any openings until our first early arrival date of Sept 8. There are several other campgrounds in the area. Our personal favorite is Shipshewana South and there is a new campground that looks awesome but I haven’t been there yet, North Trace RV Resort.

Looking forward to seeing you at the rally!

Lynn

We like Indian Lakes Campground. Wolcottville, IN.
Also, Potato Creek State Park is awesome. Large lake. Can rent boats, kayaks, bikes, nature center, trails. There are sites for our 42' Montana. Electric only, 30/50 amp. Here are sites that will work for our 3761FL...

If looking for another campground in the area to tide you over, there is Potato Creek State Park, a bit South and West of South Bend, Indiana. From the Park to Elkhart it's a 41 minute drive or 30 miles.

We've been to Potato Creek State Park several times. It is a state park in Indiana, which means you'll have an electric site with water from a shared spigot (so fill your fresh water tank), and a dump station (so bring your handy-dandy sewer hose ... or a tote).

This will put you in close proximity to Elkhart, and less than an hour drive (secondary roads) when it comes time for the event early arrival time.

Good luck!
