I have 2 Keurig's one in the house and one in the trailer. Love them but they do get expensive for the serious coffee drinker.

I tried the Keurig thing at my sons house for a cup, but I need four cups to fill my 4 cup drink container. I went to China-Mart and bought him a four cup $20.00 coffee pot for me. He likes all these new expensive gadgets. Try this for a non electric coffee maker. Purchase a small hand held strainer, some paper coffee filters. Bring a pot of water to boiling,while it is boiling put some coffee in the strainer pour the hot water through the strainer slowly make sure you have a pot below to catch the coffee,repeat the process with the original water pot on the bottom and you have a simple pot of coffee. Repeat original process for stronger coffee.

That is also my opinion, French Press is hard to beat, especially if you grind just prior to brewing. I have never tried coffee from a cold brewing apparatus(I hear it's awesome though) because I wouldn't have the patience to wait that long for the end reward.

For a regular cup of coffee, French Press is my choice. As a plus, no electric draw unless you run the exhaust fan over the stove when you boil the water.

For Espresso, Cappuccino's, and Latte's, my Saeco Syntia fits the bill. It also puts out regular coffee, but I prefer the French Press results.

I use a Hario Skerton, conical ceramic burr, manual grinder for the French Press, and also use it to grind dark roast beans for the espresso machine, as oily beans are not recommended for its integrated grinder.

We bought a new 12 cup Mr Coffee at W/W yesterday. No improvement in power drop, but it's PRETTIER & has a better pour spout. Oh well, the old one lasted 15 yrs, it's now retired. I only have 4 more days of camping in this weather, then home. We came here to help sons family. On Jan 1st, 2 yr old G/S dove on son and nailed him on corner of eyebrow giving him a severe concussion. He is finally coming out of it and able to return to classroom half days and help with the 3 little ones. By us coming he was able to rest enough to recover. BTW, 2 yr old was fine. Thanks for all replies.
