Disk brake problems

I'm On a road trip and found out I have no trailer brakes. Five thousand miles ago I installed or had disc brake system installed and has been working just fine up to this point.
I have checked fuses. I have checked my truck controller at my trailer connection. I have checked my controller brake fluid, and through a conversation with the installer, we have realized that the controller has went kaput.
Question:
The company that sold the brakesystem to me seems to be going to warranty the pump actuator, but there's some question on whether They will spend the money to have the installer, replace it.
Does anyone have any thoughts or input on this? Would that be normal that I would have to pick up the installation of the new pump actuator or should that be covered in the replacement warranty?

If you purchased the kit from one source and hired someone else to install it you may be out of luck warranty wise. Do you have any paperwork that lays out the warranty?

Unless the actuator was put somewhere hard to access swapping the part is very simple not requiring much labor.

Generally a “bought part” comes with a warranty only on the part itself and any labor to remove or install is not covered. The manufacturer of the part only received compensation for the part itself therefore is only responsible for said parts replacement. You may however get lucky and the installer will cover the labor if he sees it in his best interest for his reputation.

Thank you Walt, i am back at home base and scheduled for a replacement of the actuator pump.
