CP4 High Pressure Fuel Pump

I didn't mention 2 rig blowouts on the way home too! LOL Bad part of this is my wife doesn't want to go out again.... I want one more year to make it to age 80 - kind of a goal. She revealed recently that she is kind of terrified when on the road. Hoping I can convince her!

Well I hope for 90 . :) A good friend, and fishing buddy , but much older than I towed his trailer for the last time at age 90 from California to Montana every year . We celebrated his 90th birthday, and 40th year on the same site in a small RV park on the Madison River a few years back . After his 90th he left his trailer in Montana for another three years before he quit coming . He passed away at 96 in 2022 . Actually on his birthday.

Although I will mostly likely not make 40 years at that RV park, I can always hope for 90 years old there . :) I’ll be there 24 years at the age of 78 this year . 12 more years will put me a bit short at only 36 years.

Let’s hope you can get another year or more .

I have a 2012 Duramax. 2023 I had REALLY bad luck. The turbo stuck open pumping a lot of fuel into the engine. The killer was the #2 injector went bad and apparently was wide open. So the cylinder got flooded and washed the oil off the walls and eventually scored the walls. Found pieces of metal in the pan when all was said and done. No new Duramax from Chevy available, so found a used one with 60k miles. Shipped in a wooden crate, but upon delivery it got dropped and dented the pan and broke off a few external parts. So we used some parts from the old engine and got on the way. A thousand or so miles later fan belt kept shredding or disappearing! Apparently the fan got bent when engine dropped. Eventually replaced the fan (after it got sent to Memphis instead of Bozeman!
That was a real fun summer. I was hoping for the expected 200K or more from the Duramax. Oh well.
Yep it happens. My 2019 is making up for my 2011. That one spun a bearing at 58k. Never buy a first model year:eek:
Truck was 8years old so no warranty. That when I bought the 2019.

This reminds me of 2 friends I took to Wyoming antelope hunting. You talked about your friend passing. These two guys passed on the same day.
When you get up to close to 80 or above you loose a lot of friends.

So true. When I started there in Montana I was 54 years old . 6 that come to mind were around 20 years older than me. They are all gone now . All became good friends , and fished with them a fair amount. One as said went into his nineties up there . The others were younger . It was quite the group , it’s never been quite the same since . Now there are a few of us older guys , and now it’s the younger crowd.
