Considering buying a gently used High country 331RL 2023

Hi!

We currently have a 2008 Montana. We are considering buying a gently used High country 331RL 2023. There’s one for sale in our RV park that we’re staying in.

Any words of wisdom or caution would be greatly appreciated.

I don’t know anything about the unit you are looking at but buying used is a good move. Let someone else take the depreciation and fix everything when it was new.

Joanne - what model is your 2008?
There may be some folks here that can help point out the differences in what you currently live in and maintain vs. the 2023 High Country 331RL.

Just curious…what is your tow vehicle?

Our tow vehicle is 2024 Chevy Duramax 3500 SRW W.
We weren’t concerned The differences… We were more concerned about if anybody had any major issues with their 2023 Montana Highcountry.

Unfortunately, it's a challenge to compare rigs like that. Someone may have some issues that you might never have in the new unit. You may experience something that others with the same unit have never seen. I'm not aware of anything systemic that would cause alarm generally speaking.

For the most part the High Country line has been a pretty good line so it's going to come down to how well that particular unit was built. We've been happy with ours since we bought it new 6 years ago. I know that there have been some functional improvements in the HC line since ours. Yours will have rack and pinion slides and sturdier floors in those slides. Both are great improvements over our cable slides and wimpy slide floors. The 331RL is a really nice floor plan that we have always liked.

Do a thorough PDI. If it checks out then you may be in good shape.
