I am pretty sure my fan is 120 V and the blades have broken off. Almost every fan on internet is a 12V. I don't think the house fans will fit - or cover the opening from the old one. Has anyone done this?
Thanks

I remember someone posting about a quality fan replacement several years back. Did a search and found this post from forum member Bourbon County…

You can purchase replacement blades and/or replacement blade arms at your local Lowes, Home Depot, Menards etc... I just replaced a broken arm last week on our fan with a replacement 42" arm from Menards. It came in a kit with 5 arms and new screws and felt washers. I think it was $12 bucks. They are universal with two sizes. Ours was the 42" size.

Easiest way to figure out if the fan is AC or DC is to turn it on. Then, simply unplug the camper electric cord from shore power. If the fan keep running, its DC (provided you have a battery hooked up on your camper). If it stops, it's AC.

Here's one way to do it. If the motor is perfectly fine and it's only the blades that are broken, then do some good measurements and purchase a new fan from Lowe's or Home Depot, or somewhere like that. Then, use the blades from the new fan, toss out the rest of the new fan, and save parts from the new one for some other project.

IF you cannot find a fan replacement, this might be the easier way to accomplish the mission! (Use parts from a new one on the old one).

Be careful searching for a DC paddle fan. There are several on the market listed as DC. You actually supply 120 VAC to them and they have a rectifier in the fan to power the motor. The DC motors are extremely quiet; that's the purpose for these fans. I have one made by Fanimation in my home theater and you can't even hear it on low or medium in a nearly soundproof room.

A 2013 model will be 120V - not 12 volt. Based on reading this forum - seems like the 12 volt fans did not come along until 2021 or 2022 - right?

Years ago I heard a noise while pulling the big slide in and what I heard was a fan blade snapping off.
My 2011 unit is definitely 120 volts. I replaced it with a 52 inch ceiling hugger fan. It is still very close to the top of the slides when you pull them in you have to keep a close eye on it

I just checked two sites and both sell 12v ceiling fans. Recpro and etrailer. I sure there are more than that. Do a search and I am sure you can find them. If the fan still runs and is still quiet, I would check at lowes or homedepot about new blades.

My 2019 3120RL has a 120v ac ceiling fan. I remember the 12v DC coming out a year or two later.

Next question: How are these things mounted in the rig? I have installed them in my house at some point, but a Montana doesn't have 2x4s with 24 inch spacing.....

Just a standard octagonal ceiling box can hold about 35 pounds, these fans only weigh about 10. If there's an existing fan you're replacing, it's already braced quite well. I found the box for mine very sturdy and was able to shoot an additional screw through the mounting plate for the fan into an adjacent joist. The motor assembly on mine mounted on 1/4" threaded studs to the backer plate. It came with nylock nuts which i thought was a really good idea.
