I just tried to open a thread on the forum and I got a notice about my Flashplayer being out of date. It then tried to download a DMG file to my MacBook which I quickly deleted.

The sender is not Adobe or Flashplayer. There is a problem with someone getting through the forum firewall.

BEWARE and do not open this file. DMG files change your Apple computer.
Only get your updates for Flashplayer from the Adobe website.

My bet is that you have some adware or a browser hijacker loaded on your device that is being triggered. Macs are not immune anymore.

Please consider running a scan either with your virus protection platform or malwarebytes (which is free and excels at removing this stuff)

Janet, while that is certainly possible on my Mac I do note that at the end of the redirect I posted above is a post number from this forum. What is that post? How would malware on my computer know that the trigger is that post number?

Installed Malwarebytes and ran scan. All clear.

That "post1141448" is the internal number assigned to your post #4 in this Thread. How that became part of the link to "saveonlinetypeapp..." ( a known malware site) is unknown to me. You didn't accidentally click on an ad link by chance?

I took (copied) that redirect link from my browser history which existed before I posted in #4 this thread. ???
