Butterfly Hand Piecing Quilt Block
Come learn how to hand stitch this beautiful
Butterfly block. Makes a great project for on the go!
Materials Needed
Scrap Fabrics of your choice, (I have 1930’s fabrics in mine for the wings
Brown for body
Color of choice in place of my Pink or Blue (I used Kona Quilter’s Cotton in Solids)
Embroidery Floss to match or contrast fabric using in place of my Pink or Blue
Brown Embroidery Floss
Embroidery Needles
Milliners Needles Size 10 https://sunny-day-supply.myshopify....chard-hemming-milliners-straw-needles-size-10
Thread Heaven -thread conditioner (Most Fabric stores i.e. Joanns, Hobby Lobby, Michaels carry this)
Small sharp point embroidery scissors or your choice
Quilting Thread – not for quilting - Odd Color (if you don’t have any I have plenty to get use started to learn the technique)
(Small Iron – if you have one, I will have several different styles for you to try)
Background fabric – I used Kona Quilter’s Cotton, color “Snow” 4” squares

I have started working on the STEPS for this project and I want to remind you that you can choose any color combination. I picked the 1930's fabrics but you can pick any combos of colors. I had one gal, in the past, that use a black background and bright bold colors for the wings. Let your imagination build your BUTTERFLIES!
