I have a 2023 Montana 3901RK legacy with full body paint. Approximately 6 months ago I discovered that the metal strap on my residential refrigerator had broken and the refrigerator was laying on its face against the counter. The refrigerator had dents in it and looked awful. Additionally, it now won't cool or freeze.

I took it to Camping world and I was told that it was out of warranty. I asked them to contact Keystone as this certainly appeared to be a manufacturing defect. I had only been out with this camper 3-4 times. Well Keystone came back and told me that if it was a manufacturing defect it would have broken much earlier. Sorry, the warranty is expired. I also have an extended warranty. I was told that because it was damaged due to a fall, it is not covered under the extended warranty. Good Sam

Camping world did tell me that they could order a new one from Keystone and the cost would be $4,600. This is for the cheap GE residential refrigerator that came with it. I looked at Home Depot and could purchase the exact same model for $1,585. I even went onto Camping Worlds website and I could order the exact same one from Camping World online for $1,885.

To make matters worse, you cannot get the old refrigerator out unless you remove a window or a slide. I paid $1,053 for them to put a new refrigerator in and take the old one out.

Beware of Keystone and their prices gouging. Make sure you check around before you purchase from them.

I'd fight that. That should fall under structural which is covered under your extended warranty.

I had a residential refrigerator replaced in a Jayco Pinnacle and it went thru the door.
The doors have to be removed and that’s NOT a big deal.

Did you consider filing a claim with your Insurance company? It might not be too late to do that, especially if you have protection for the contents of the RV.

Many of us have had to have the bracket that holds the fridge in place spot welded. Checking the welds on both sides of the fridge is something I routinely do. Another factor is your RK model being really susceptible to significant movement as you drive down the road.

On our 2021 3121RL the original refrigerator that came in it the ice maker was not working. So after arguing with the dealer that was selling the RV, they decided to install a new refrigerator. They installed (if you could call it that) a Samsung 3 door model.
Install was great…….they installed a strap (like the one holding the tv in place to keep refrigerator in place. Seriously.

We have a 2024 3531RE and the refrigerator mounting bracket will not stay attached to the wall. It is in a slide. So far it has not damaged the fridge or the floor by sliding. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to securely anchor a residential fridge to a slide wall? It currently has a metal strap that wraps around the front under the upper doors with a three screw attachment to the wall. The screw’s keep pulling out.
