Members widely recommend Sailun tires for heavy fifth wheels, with many reporting years of trouble-free use, especially when purchased online and installed at local shops. However, some caution about recent manufacturing shifts (from China to Vietnam and now Cambodia), noting a recall and quality concerns with certain batches. The latest Sailun S637 tires are now Load Range H (16 ply, 120 psi max), replacing the older G-rated (14 ply, 110 psi) models. Members stress the importance of... More...
Sailuns and TST for us as well. Repeater wired to our main DC busbars up by the batteries. I did have it wired through a 5 amp breaker so I could turn it off as needed. After forgetting to turn it on several times, I removed the breaker.
Can you send a pic or tell me where the main CD busbars are located?

We have our repeater connected to the input side of the inverter so that power to it is controlled by the main battery switch. (We need the inverter on when traveling since we have a resi fridge.)
Would you send a photo or describe where the input side of the inverter is located...Thank you

I added the bus bars. They were not a factory item. Its simply positive and negative connection points where all of our different charging systems, converter, inverter, tpms repeater, starlink power supply etc... are connected to the batteries.

Tire brand wise if Sailun or Hercules are not available locally and you dont want to mail order them then out of the brands you listed Carlisle would be your best bet... has a decent track record... I would also UP the size to ST 235/85x16 ( more load capacity ) and tire will only make the TV 1/2 inch taller....

Tire monitor - I have been running TST 507 for the last 13 seasons... I use the screw on senders.. Zero issues with the TST... I also got the repeater for the system as it will prevent drop outs you might incur depending on the length of your fifth wheel.

Note - make certain when you get new tires have them install All Metal valve stems .. Not the rubber ones with the metal piece...
I am sold on Sailun however I just Bought a 2025 3875FK it came with Coopers which are US Built. So far good. I bought the Sailun from Walmart online took the to the local Walmart store and they installed them free. had to pay for balancing. On most of the fifth wheels 38 ft and above you need 16 ply

Thank you Tim. Ours is 34 ft so I ordered the Sailin from WM and will have to take thru it to Discout tire for mounting. Local Wal Mart in Brownwood, Tx would not help me mount the tires.

Bodet - I bought mine online and had them delivered to my house, then took the rig to a Discount Tire. I made an appointment for first thing in the morning so they could spot the rig just outside the bays and put the tires on. The drive approach and low hanging tree limbs made it difficult to get into the Georgetown Discount Tire, so I took it to the Pflugerville store where access was much better.

Same here , had them delivered from Walmart to my doorstep . Took mine off at home ,and took them to the tire shop I usually buy most of my tires ,and had them mounted ,and balanced . Mine will be six years old this spring , they will be replaced with another set of Sailun from Walmart .

Picture from initial hookup. The repeater wires are the small ones going to the same terminals as the battery cables.

I just mounted up a set of Sailuns and have not pulled the rig yet, but went on the advice of others.

I have a Tire Minder TPMS, and it has saved me on 1 occasion with a fast leak (broken belt) that prevented me from pulling it flat or having it blow out... and when I had a blow out, luckily at a fuel stop in the parking lot (LUCKY) it alerted instantly.

The reason I went with Tire Minder was because it works with my iPhone via an app, and therefore on Apple CarPlay on my entertainment system in the truck. No extra devices on my dash.

I guess I am the only one that bought Hankooks. I bought them in Tuson after my Sailiuns had a blow out. The Hankooks have been doing well for 3 going on 4 years

I have heard good things about Hankooks, plus Discount Tire sells them in Tx. I went with the Sailiuns this go round. Will see how they do. Appreciate the feedback

I know many have used and like the Sailun, but my only experience with Sailun was not a positive one. Sailun switched to manufacturing in Viet Nam (from China), and there were quality problems. I had a tire have the tread separate, causing damage to my trailer. Being on the road I had limited options and ended up buying a new set of Goodyear G614s. Sailun soon had a recall, but because I had nothing left that could show my tire date code they wouldn’t do anything for me. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. It wasn’t just the failed tire and damage, but the absolute runaround, lack of call backs, and ultimately telling me pretty much “sucks to be you - can’t do anything unless you have the original tires” treatment I received from the U.S. distributor.

I would suggest that if you do go with the Sailun tire get the place you buy them from to record the date code of each tire. Absent that, take a pic of each date code on each tire and save them just in case.

Best of luck!
The Sailun tires just arrived and they are stamped "made in Cambodia". I am not sure about the mfg date..still trying to figure this out. Any feedback on the tires made in Cambodia before I have them mounted?

Wow ,now Cambodia !!!!! I have had two sets of Saliuns , both China made , been flawless . Having reservations now about Sailun , I know the Vietnam made Sailuns has issues ,and recalls . Now we have deal with another country manufacturing them ,and wonder what the quality will be . Great they stand by their tires ,but it's not much consolation on a blowout ,and does damage to our fifth wheels .

Many many went thru that with the Goodyear G614's blowouts tearing up our fifth wheels , but the G614's should not be an option they do not have the weight rating for most Montana fifth wheels ,especially the newer ones . I would never consider a G14 for my fifth wheel regardless of what is said about them now ,just for the fact of their weight rating .

Looks like I may look into Hankooks , or some other G rated trailer tires . Unless I can get another set of Sailuns made in China , they have never had any issues that I have heard of .

As far as manufacturing date ,they will be on all four of them you ordered ,not hard to see . They will be in a little oval circle , and will be the week , and year , that will be like this " 2425 " thats the 24th week of 2025

Thank you, I did find the date code all produced in May/June 2025. These are 235/85R16 132/128 G rated I believe. It is a step up from the current 235/80R16.

I will give them a whirl and let everyone how they do

TY for the feedback.

Thank you ChuckS, I have also seen some use the TST 770 which seems to have a few more bells and whistles. Looks like both should get the job done.
Boy ChuckS when I stand those 235/85s up against the current 235/80s it makes it a little tighter fit between the tires. Mine is a 34 ft so just curious if anyone else has upsized to the 235/85 on a 34 ft Montana.

My Salians wear funny and look bad, but they are still good! 110 psi cold, and the pressure can reach 130psi plus. TST does warn if pressure is escaping fast.

These new Salians call for 120 psi cold beer n the 235/85
