First trip in our 24 3631re barely raining and the awning collapsed. Does this not have a tilt feature? Warranty or insurance claim?

Ours has an "auto dump" feature where one side will collapse and let rain run off. But it springs back into place after it dumps the rain. Is that what happened or did it collapse and fall apart?

Do you have any pictures?
What do you mean it came off the arms?
It pulled off of the trailer? The arms broke off the mount that is attached to the trailer?
The roller tube came off the arms?
What kind is it, a Lippert Solara?
If so, that model is pretty easy to tilt for rain run off. I’m surprised you missed that feature.

I hope your warranty covers it, but it is well known from dealers and the manufacturers that you’re suppose to put the awning in when it’s raining or windy.
I have never put mine in during the rain and it’s been in some serious down pours. That’s why I have an awning.

This is after repair, but yes no tilt, bowed in the middle and pulled the tube right out.

I’m glad they repaired it. I’ve never seen an awning fail that way, I’ve seen them come off the trailer and seen the arms get crumpled up.
What did they say about it coming apart like that?

They haven’t fixed it yet. The motor seized when we were trying to bring it in. Husband is dealing with keystone

Same, I had to get a shovel and pull the Pitch Arm down because so much rain was heavy enough to start pulling the screws out of the camper. Big mess! Broke the Pitch Arm and was pure **** getting it back together.

Did you start with your dealer first? That’s typically where Keystone will send you. It will up to the dealer to file the claim with Keystone and make the warranty repair.

Also, what type of awning do you have? Do you have the kind that is adjustable by collapsing the spring loaded arm and turning the set screw to lock it into place? If you leave them untightened then the spring action can allow the weight of the water to collapse the arm, drain the water, the spring back out.
