We have a 2005 3400rl coming in about 3 weeks. We were wondering if anyone has come up with any particular problem on this model. We really loved the design on this model, as well as the low hitch weight. It looks like it should ride light on the truck. We are going to pull with a 2005 GMC 2500 HD Crew Cab Duramax Diesel / Allison tranny. Also adding the Pull Rite Superglide hitch. Any helpful hints would be appreciated.:D Can't wait till it all comes in. Right now we are using a Wildwood TT, 19 footer, which is really cramped.

A Montana, A Duramax and A Pullrite! AHH, Ain't it great, What more could anyone ask for?

Sorry I don't have a 3400 but I do know there are many here at the MOC that do and will be only too happy to help you out.

Hi Tina & Jim, I have to agree with Glenn, you can't ask for much more! I do have a 3400RL. We haven't had any major problem. I also can't remember any discussions of problems specific to the 3400. I think you're going to be really happy! If you do a search (top right corner of the page) on PDI, you'll find links to predelivery inspection checklists which you may find useful when you pick the trailer up.

The truck is also going to be fine with the 3400. Several folks (Montana Sky comes to mind) have a combination of the 3400RL with the 2500HD.

Welcome aboard. Keep us posted on how you like it.

We just picked up our 3400RL Fri. and can't wait to take it out. It really is a beautiful camper. So late in the season, can't decide where to go for a shake down trip. A lot of camping places close around here the end of October.

Congratulations gailmx. You're gonna love it. I don't know where you are, but we're getting toward the end of the season here in Kentucky too. Lots of campgrounds closing after Halloween. We may get out this weekend, but then it's three weeks of other things we have to do here. So,only one or two more trips this year. Let us know how your shakedown cruise goes.

Hi tnorfitz. We've had our 3400 for 9 months and have been very satisfied. However, there have been a few things:

1. The shower has a small leak in the basement. Others have had this as well. Until I get it fixed, we leave a small bucket under the plumbing to catch the drips.

2. Our 115v electric element in the hot water heater never worked. We didn't know that until the 12v/propane failed also. No hot water for a few days.

3. Depending on the slope of the dump station, some waste water may come out when you remove the cap to dump. It is probably waste water downstream of the valves. Be sure to put a "waste" bucket undder the cap before removing.

4. Turn "off" the antenna booster when using a TV cable hook up.

5. The pin weight was right on specs when we weighed the 3400 at delivery. Now that we're loaded, it's MUCH heavier. Be sure your TT and TV tires are pumped up to the 80 psi pressure. You're almost sure to be over the GVWR of the 2500.

All in all, we're very pleased with our decision. It's right for us. Good luck.

We haven't used our 3400 very much yet. Purchased in April and have only been out twice in it. No major problems, just minor ones. We really love the space and hope we still love it when we go full time next year. The only change we made was to move the hideabed and recliners. It makes it much easier to look at the view and the tv watching is easier also. Good luck and happy trails.

We also love our 3400. My husband fixed the shower leak. We posted how he did it on this site. You can find it with a search-- or e-mail us. We have had some problems with the 3400 but all are fixed at this time. One problem was wear on the tires but having the tires rotated and balanced solved that problem. This wear showed up after about 2000 miles. Good luck and hope you have as much fun as we have with our 3400.
