ANY INTEREST IN A TEXAS RALLY?

Wondering if there would be interest in starting a rally gathering in Texas? Central Texas to start maybe around Waco, Fredericksburg, or somewhere central? Thinking early Spring, late Fall or late Winter, just NOT in the Texas summer heat! We see quiet a few Montana's in Texas and know of friends in Texas who own Montana's. Just tossing around the idea possibly in 2026/2027.

Back in the day, the MOC held National Spring rallies at various sites. One was in March of 2010 at Kerrville, TX. We had a great turnout with lots to see in the surrounding area.

I'm interested but how do you avoid the hurricanes, tornadoes, and sand storms? The whole southeast of the US has become very dangerous in the spring. So fall might be good in October or November???

Much of central Texas doesn't have the sandstorms, tornados and hurricane related weather. We have quite different weather in central Texas than the SE. Plus was thinking of doing something just not before or right after the annual rally to give folks a break in between.

We are in Oklahoma City and wouldn't mind going to Texas in the Spring. Warmer weather would be nice in the Spring. Sounds like fun!

Having lived in Texas all my 79 years and traveled to the hill country frequently I can tell you that October and November and late March to early May are great times to visit the hill country.

October/November are typically mild nice weather maybe turning colder toward the end of November. Maybe some rain but not normally storms. Summer heat is over and winter cold yet to arrive …. normally. Would be a good choice.

Late March most of the cold weather is leaving and turning mild. Storms typically begin to show up late April increasing toward mid/late May. Tornadoes are not as common in the hill country as in more northern and eastern parts of Texas. Should also a good choice.

This sounds like a great idea! We travel to Texas from Wisconsin twice a year Oct/Nov and Feb/March. Any of those locations sound good but Fredericksburg is always our favorite.

Sounds great! Late October or Early November would be a great time of year. Live in Central Texas just north of the Hill Country we have mild fall weather.

FYI...We just spent a few Days at Waco Creekside in Elm Mott just north of Waco...very nice! In about 2 months (my guess) they will have an additional ~26 new pull-thru sites plus 25 back-in sites open. We paid $60/night. They currently have only 33 sites with ~10 sites used for overnight/short term (just my guess)...so the new sites will be good.
