Are there any Godzilla owners on the forum that I could have a phone conversation with about their experiences.
Please private message me and I'll send phone number.
Thanks
Jack

There is lots of discussion on the 7.3L Godzilla on the IRV2 forum as they have been putting them in motorhomes with the F53 chassis since 2020 year models. It replaced the V10. Here are some threads that came up from my search…

Sorry guys, I should have pointed this out; I got several responses to this question on the Keystone RV Forum. I was frustrated with my 2023 Duramax. BTW, my 23 2500 Silverado Duramax exhaust was a mechanical issue that dealer hasn't seen before. They replaced lots of parts (warranty) and I just got back from our yearly 2500+ miles from eastern CO over cont. divide to Idaho, Montana and back. Lots of mtns & hills; I love my Duramax with the exhaust break. As I learn more I'm finding out these new diesels (all brands) with the EPA stuff are meant to haul and not be "grocery getters". I've talked to several shops and experts and the EPA exhaust equipment needs to be run hard/normal. Stop/go and idling are the bane of modern diesels as the exhaust has to regenerate (burn) exhaust particulates, and the particulate filters get overwhelmed during idle and short trips. My truck is going in for a Banks engine monitor ($750) which will tell me the status of particulate filter and regen cycles. I'm not a mechanic by any stretch; but, have owned/driven dozens of trucks over last five decades and these new trucks are definitely different.

Last note; one of the experts that actually writes columns and has a shop told me that gassers are probably coming out with similar particulate filters in the near future.

There is a car talk guy on San Antonio radio station 550 KTSA (Louie Siriani 11:00-1:00 Saturdays) I have been listening to for years. In the last few months he has had a guy on to talk about diesel particulate filters from a San Antonio company called DPF Resolutions. I called the DPF guy when we were camping at the SA KOA a couple of weeks ago. My truck has 88k on it and exhibits no issues currently. We live out in the country so we do lots of highway driving…it’s 20 minutes to the nearest Walmart. He said they could clean my filter for about $600 and they would need to have the truck for about 4 hours. He said chances increase that a truck like mine will have issues with the DPF after 100k miles. The filter cleaning is good preventative maintenance. I will probably get mine cleaned in the coming year while we are camping in SA.

My 04 Fleetwood motorhome has a GM 8.1L gasser in it on a W20 chassis we use for short weekend trips. Great engine, however, if we go on a long trip with hills and/or mountains- we take the truck and the Montana. I love the diesel exhaust brake.
