Additional rear lighting

Has anyone added more lighting to supplement the two 4 inch tail/stop/turn light on the rear of the unit?

Nothing in the rear but I did add rear cornering lights on the driver's and passenger sides because my model year did not have any and in the rare instances I drive at night I'd like to know where my rear corner is located during a turn. I understand newer rigs have these but my '06 did not...

Since I don't have anything additional at the rear face of my Monty other than the ladder which is offset away from the passenger side rear light, I don't feel a need.

Just thought of removing the back up light and putting additional tail, turn and brake light like OEM them. If I come off the existing lights will it overload anything? would like to get the LED units.

I added a 62" LED (fire and ice) light bar back there. Works great at night but not too effective during the day.

I wired the low power red to the exhaust brake so it comes on when the exhaust brake is active. The brake and turn work normal and the white are wired to backup.

Being an old truck driver, I would light mine up like a Christmas tree if it weren't for having to drill all those holes in it!

That light bar may just what I have been looking for. Will still replace the backup light. Thanks

I replaced my two 4" backup white lights and two 4" stock red tail lights with four round 4" red LED tail/stop lights. My dealer did the work; the extra reds were spliced into the existing wiring and they work great. Nice and bright! I've also added red/silver DOT reflective tape along the length of the hitch bar and am planning to add some more white reflective tape on the upper corners {like on the semi trailers}and along the back. I don't miss the backup lights as I don't think they are of any benefit.

Jim,
The red/silver DOT strips (about 18" long) are sold in Walmart and "towing section" of Tractor supply, Lowes, Home Depot etc.; Found 36" rolls of White 2" reflective tape in a local ACE hardware store but believe most auto parts stores carry it.

We're in Vancouver, WA and have now got "WINTER" Monty experience, as it has been the coldest weather in 25 years! Temps were in the high teens a couple days ago. I insulated the entrance water line, heat taped the outside faucet, and left the water at a pencil sized running all night with grey water tanks open; and along with the furnace, electric oil heater, and the Fireplace things were cozy. The Fireplace has been on for over a month now; it is the greatest!

Great idea with the reflective tape! Thanks

I have wanted to add some additional lights to the rear of my coach too! I may try the reflective tape until I find the right set up. Thanks for the idea. As far as back up lights, they are worthless for seeing any thing back there, but they do let others know you are backing up. I want to add some 50 watt back up lights so when I do need to see something when I back up they really light up the area. I had them on one of my older coaches and they were great when trying to back into a site at night. (Which I seldom do any more.)

Chuck said he replace the four light units in the back of the trailer with " four round 4" red LED tail/stop lights

Where would I find these?
Do they have the turn signal in them or just tail and stop lights?

This is an item on my wish list.
