A thought on decals

Our 2008 has decals peeling on the front and one side of the RV. Keystone was good about sending replacements, but now the hard work of getting them removed and the new ones applied which we have started. You have to wonder how many people start this process and never finish because it is to difficult.

I was told by my dealer that this was problem was only on 2007 and 2008 models. I have noticed a whole bunch of Montana's with decal issues, maybe because I am sensitive to the issue. Makes you think if Keystone wouldn't have been better served by taking care of this issue. I'm sure the expense would be tremendous, but what is it costing them to have terrible looking RV's running around the country? Just a thought....

Once again a dealer doesn't know what he is talking about (or is lying). This problem reared its ugly head in 2004. Friends of ours had an early 04 and no problems, ours was made later and it peels, peels, peels.

Although it’s great that keystone is taking care of it for you. I had them replace the front graphics on our 2007 model and they gladly did so. I know the warrantee was probably already out and I appreciate what they did. However the next year they refused to replace any more due to the age of it. I believe the cut off is five years IMHO; so if you need any replaced and they continue to peel I would stay in contact with Keystone and get them taken care of ASAP.

The dealer is just saying what he needs to say.anything for a sale. As 8.1al has said it has been a problem for a long time. Our 05 the front and one side are peeling and have been for a long time.

our 2008 decals are peeling off all over started replacing and was camped beside fellow Montana owner he had replaced his and were peeling offf again, said he would not replace again so I stopped replacing mind, guess good advertisement for Montana, would not buy another one.

I found on my 2008 that removing them was not that difficult by using a good hair dryer, PLASTIC putty knife and then clean-up with Goo-Gone. Can't speak for putting new ones on. Only had problem with front cap and left it naked. Hoping you find it easier than you think.

Our 2007 is fine. Keystone would probably save money in the long run if they would stop using the cheap material and go with a quality product. They spend more time and money fixing the ones that die than if the put good decals on to start.

TLightning, Keystone does save money. they only fix what they want, some get things repaired others don't. Ignorance seems to be their best policy

Just goes to show you that the MOC knows more about Montanas than most dealers! Don't trust anything any dealer tells you, they just don't have the experience.....profit is their motive.

emptynest as 8.1 and MANY other MOC's will tell you along with many post about decal problems on this site and other forums. The decals are a job in themselves to remove. some members use a heat gun and pull them off, others with razor blades and Gum Off. it is a painstaking job as mine is turning out to be. slow but sure..... I pick on a bad decal area every time I take it out and remove it, soon it will be all white. the problem is even though you get new decal installed they also will peel on the edges due to shrinking of the plastic and bad glue. ( MY THEROY ). after I get mine white I will get mine painted on and not have to worry about peeling again. I will have to see if it is cost effective first, they don't look to bad all white either. good luck on your removal of deacls.

AKA TT2's in the Rats nest :D.

Us too. I am removing them as they peel , each year, and they will stay off. Too many folk have repleced them just to have the replacements start coming off.
