A/C triped the braker

[ugh]

Its very hot and one of the A/C tripped the breaker. What could cause it to tripped, so I can find it and correct it. Any ideas?

Where did it trip the breaker, in the unit or at the pedestal? Are you on a 30 amp circuit or a 50 amp circuit?

The main breaker by the entrance door, not on the unit itself and the pedestal (outside post). I am on 50 AMP.

I am not sure what configuration you have but in my breaker box I have two 50 amp breakers = 2 50 amp circuits, do you have a single or double 50 amp or something different.

I only have one AC and it is on it's own 20 amp breaker, if I had two then the second one would also be on it's own breaker but on the other 50 amp circuit

If both A/C were on at the same time and there was other load on the circuit I would think it possible to throw a 50 amp breaker. Are your AC units on separate breakers, perhaps 20/25 amp.

Since it did not throw the pedestal breaker then there is a chance your 50 amp breaker is weak, that does happen and if so it should be replaced.

I have moved the breakers in some peoples trailers because both ACs were on the same hot leg. That solved the problem.

Yes I agree with NCFischers we did that on the last 4 rigs, and no problems.

First I would check Voltage at the pedestal, you say it is hot thinking a lot are running their AC Units that could lower Park Voltage.
When Voltage goes down AMPS go up. And breakers trip
That is where I would start

We have been at Casa Grande RV Park in hot hot AZ and the same thing happened repeatedly 3 days ago while the temp was 112 degrees. (We are usually not there during daylight hours.) However, at first we did have both the washer, dryer, tv, and some lights on at the same time. Turn off the dryer and lights and still tripped, but took a little longer to do so. Turned of the washer and tv and no more tripping. After reading Jim's idea I suspect that we have both ACs on the same hot leg.
