B&W Turnover Ball GN hitch setup

I’m wanting to convert my 5ver to GN to gain bed space and convenience. Searching, there are options galore. I’m not really wanting to change Pin boxes, it’s not a must but preferred. An offset is really preferred with the shortbed but not a must. I currently use a BW companion and have had clearance issues 1 time when I had to park trailer in a tight spot that basically required a 90 degree jackknife. Any suggestions?

Just change the pin box to the Reese Goosebox. The Goosebox is about 2in longer so you'll have the offset for more clearance. It also has the air bag and shocks to improve the ride. I wouldn't mess around with adapters. The Lippert frame warranty isn't affected either.

I thought I read somewhere here on the forum that the Goosebox is not approved by Lippert/Keystone and will void frame warranty. I'd check before going too far.

Finding mixed messages so I may very well be wrong. Some keystone forums from 2023 say the Reese is the only approved one, and I found others that say it's not. Take with a grain of salt unless you get it straight from Keystone. Sorry.

If you decide to change the goose box you should look at the Gen Y goosebox. I put it on my 2021 3120RL and really glad I did. It is much smoother than the standard fifth wheel hitch. and it has a break in period which I have not met yet so it will only get smoother. Couple things I liked better than Reese. First its made in the USA. I toured the factory in Indiana and was very impressed. It is torsion flex technology no airbags to mess with. Not sure how old your trailer is but I am not worried about the frame warranty because with this hitch and suspension upgrades I have made I am hoping the frame will have no issues. They also have a nice offset ball and having the bed of the truck back is great.

The goosebox is the only gooseneck setup.approved by Lippert. Atleast it was when I did research a couple years ago. I went with the Goosebox and really like it.

I have an Andersen Ultimate goose neck adapter and highly recommend it. I think that it outperforms the pullrite super glide that I had. It takes less than five minutes to install and remove and only weighs about 40 pounds.
