Howdy,
Has anyone ever replaced the seals on a hydraulic piston? I'm replacing my kitchen slide piston this week. The seal is shot and it's oozing hydraulic fluid when in motion. I have a feeling the living room slide is not far behind it.

My thought was to replace the kitchen slide now, and then see if I can rebuild and replace the seals on it to use for the living room side when it goes. Has anyone rebuilt one of these Pistons?

I do appreciate that. I did search and unfortunately those threads you pulled up talk about jacks. I know there are a plethora of Youtube videos on replacing the seals in those. I specifically want to rebuild a slide out piston for the kitchen slider. Wanted to pick anyone's brain that has tried it.

I’d take the old slide cylinder off and tear it apart and try to match up the seals either at a local hydraulic shop or these folks will be able to help you with their extensive excellent website for seals and such..

You will need to remove the coroplast bottom to get to the rear anchor point for those slide pistons. I have never done it but I have seen where those things sit in the frame by watching “Keystone Montana factory tour” videos on YouTube. The hydraulic system comes with the chassis to the Montana factory. Lippert puts them in with the chassis build.

Instead of removing the entire coroplast .. simple locate the slide out hyd rod end .. now look straight across the coroplast covering and make a mark center red between both slide out rods ends

This is where they are both connected to ..

You will most likely have to lower the spare tire to get to the area needed ( I did ) when replacing a hyd hose to one on my main slides

Make a three sided cut in covering leaving the front side still attached and pulling down along with whatever you find there is for insulation

Now you can easily reach up and remove the extend and retract hoses as well as the double nut off the inside cylinder to frame anxhor
Point

Once you are all done swapping in the
New cylinder and leak checking then tape up the theee sides using a good waterproof exterior tape and reinstall spare tire

Images from my work when I replaced the orange extend hose

The black return hose is not in my pic but it’s right there just out of the range of my pic

The slide cylinders are not serviceable. The glands are crimped on - not threaded. I just replaced my 339031 cylinder last week so it's fresh to me.. Amazon had the best price. The level-up jacks can be broken down and seals/wipers, etc replaced.
