I looked at a number of alternatives to stop the rock chips. I decided to try mudflaps and they have solved the problem. Not the stock Ford (or other vendor) truck mounted flaps, but ones that mount in the rear hitch. They cover more area and you can mount them close to the ground to minimize the exposure angle. Carl n Susan. Thank you for jogging this ole memory about the Rock solid rock guard. I had forgotten about it and then thought I had sold it in one of our garage sales. Found it back in the corner of the shed. It was fitted to a 1/2 ton Chevyfor our last TT but we drilled a couple of new holes extended it out and it looks like it will work. Hope that will save the paint.

Hook..That 3900 was our favorite but it did not come out till after we purchased our 3402. We saw the prototype 3900 at last years rally.....Really nice layout for the full timer or long timer....IMO.

Rich: my front panel looked like it had been hit by buckshot until it was re-painted. Now 3,000 miles later, using the mud flaps, there are no chips to be found. They work for me.

Thanks. Diamond shield wanted 1,000 $$ to do the front panel.

It is interesting to me that our Pocket Yacht, a 25'C-Dory Cruiser, that we sold to go land yachting was the same way. It was always a work in progress. We had it 8 years and still had way more plans.
Now that we have the Montana I'm in the same but different boat. Actually I think they are both "labors of love" and still having fun.
I better mention that the DW is too, love and always working at it, just in case this gets back to her.
