3121RL Fixed Window Leak Over Stove

The fixed window over the stove leaks out onto the counter on both side of the stove. Not always on both sides. More so on the right side of it. No clue to why this does it. We've had severe rain that does it sometimes and light rain that does it sometimes. It isn't consistent except that the leak is there. Anyone have this issue and if so what is or was the fix?

Ours did the exact same thing. Resealed the window with butyl tape and it still leaked. Ended up being the exterior range hood vent. The water runs down the sloped sides and into the vent. I sealed the corners with silicone caulk and that fixed it.

Are you talking about that poorly designed white vent above the window behind the range? All it does on mine is flap in the breeze all the time while we are camping on the beach. All day and night long. There should be a way to latch it or lock it down from the interior being you can't reach it from the outside without a ladder. Is this what vent you are talking about? I don't understand what you mean by sealed the corners down. Is it not sealed the exterior wall of the camper? If you could be so kind, could you please send me a picture of what you did to solve this problem. Thank you for your response.

On my current and/or old rig, this flap in the vent had a little 'thing' that turned to lock it closed. I sort of remember someone saying the newer ones (ha - since maybe 5-10 years ago) didn't have this tab thing.

It no longer has the little tab because you could only reach it with a ladder. I'm 6'3" and I'm not even close to reaching if it was even there.

Clean and recaulk the entire perimeter of the vent and top and sides of the window. If this does not work, you will need to remove the window and reset it into new butyl tape around the opening.

Had the same problem on ours. It's a design flaw in the outside vent and has nothing to do with the flap. It's tracking down the sloped sides and inside the very bottom of the vent. Cleaned the bottom inside lip well with alcohol and sealed it with a generous bead of silicone caulk. That fixed it.

The vent flange does not go down far enough to prevent rain blowing back in.
I used 4" Gorilla tape to extend it. No more leaks.
