2026 Montana 3100RL Questions and Observations

After watching the YouTube videos on the new 2026 Montana 3100rl, my wife and I traveled 300+ miles round trip to check one out in person. We did like a lot of the improvements they made and questioned other items. First, the square exterior baggage doors. Since they are trimmed out in aluminum that is mitre cut, it looks like another means of water intrusion whether it’s in to the doors themselves or the walls surrounding it. The exterior tv bracket is extremely wobbly and looks to be made of sheet metal. The area where the side wall meets the lower skirting is assembled different. It looks very clean but I guess time will tell as far as how good the seal is. The bedroom slide mechanism seems very nice and quiet. The slide floor material seems to be plywood now instead of particle board. Let’s hear what others have seen in regards to these new models. I’ve been looking to trade my 2016 Montana 3160rl for either this Montana or an alliance paradigm. If you asked me last year or two I would have given the nod to alliance but this new Montana looks to be built better

A few more things to note, I couldn’t figure out how to turn on the under glow leds or the back lit sconces on either side of the rear window. They still use the small square pieces of steel attached to the outriggers on the frame but the paint on the frame looks pretty good

Was on the lot with my new rig yesterday (pre delivery). The underglow light switch is in the bay with the sliding tray. The sconces are switched on by a toggle in the switch panel in front of you as you enter the coach.

I actually think they forgot to wire the sconces because we tried every switch in that panel and they wouldn’t turn on. We also tried the switches in the pass through storage and none of them Lit the underglow

We were also just about to sign for an Alliance Paradigm 3100. After we saw the new Montana 3100RL our decision was made. We ordered the Montana. We are trading in our 2018 345RL for the new 3100RL. We just got word on Saturday that the trailer showed up at the dealer. As soon as the dealer has it all prepped we will be having an NRVIA Master Certified RV Inspector come into the dealer to go over it before we sign the final papers. We did find out that it is a 2027 model year. We did let the dealership know that we are having the inspection done before we take delivery of it. With the dealer knowing that it will be inspected I would assume that they will do a better job in the PDI than normal. I am curious to see what the inspector will all find. I'm sure there will be something, I'm just hoping anything found will be minor repairs.

We just bought a 3100RL and really like it. It has a lot of new features. We've noticed the 6 hydraulic outriggers have a whit light on each one. Does anyone know if there is a switch to turn the lights off??

The switch is on your level up pad that controls the jacks
