It has been a tradition for the Central Plains Rally to head to Mahoney State Park and attend one of their featured Melodramas for the summer. This year is no exception and it will be on the CPRR schedule again and we'll be heading for Mahoney on Sunday, July 13th, for the following melodrama. If this sounds like something you would like to join in the fun of cheering, booing and popcorn throwing, then post here on this thread to put your names in for the fun filled afternoon. Here's this year's melodrama:

Peril of the Storm
By D. Chapelle
Wessell was once an inept small-town mayor who grew up to be a totally inept governor! On a dark and stormy night, Governor Wally Wessel and his bodyguard, Trooper Duper, take refuge at Moldmaster Manor — a spooky old house inhabited by wealthy Mordred Moldmaster, his daughter Amberleigh, Mordred's evil brother Cringe and Cringe's scheming wife Ophelia. The governor and Trooper Duper are seeking shelter from a deadly storm but are unaware that they are in more danger within than without. Mordred has disinherited Cringe and Ophelia, leaving all of his vast fortune to daughter Amberleigh. Cringe and his wife Ophelia will do anything — yes, anything — to gain control of the estate, including disposing of the Governor, Mordred, Amberleigh, Duper or anybody else foolish enough to stand in their way!

We will collect the admission which is $10 per person from you at the Rally prior to leaving for the Melodrama and will have the tickets reserved when we get there. We just have to have a head count so we know how many reservations we need to make. Come and enjoy the fun of an old fashion melodrama!

UPDATE: 6/16/25-- We will be going out to eat following the Melodrama and will be coming back to Nebraska City for the evening meal. We have eaten at the Old Railroad Station before but it is under new ownership and they will be hosting our group for the meal and we will be ordering off their regular menu. We ate at Gram's already and the meals were excellent.

Put us down for two seats and six popcorns. I hear that Ron is folding ones and Glenn is sniping from twenty paces.
