My 2019 Montana Thomas Payne recliners are showing material failure in the seat region as well as the arms. Bought the RV new. Is this a common failure and is there any chance of a prorated reimbursement . Didn’t have time for pictures.

…also, for what it’s worth - you can go to other forums…IRV2, Jayco Owners, Grand Design, you name it - and you will find the issue was industry-wide for a long time.

As stated, yes, it's "common." I have a 2019 MHC and one couch has been pealing for some time. Earlier this year I solved the problem:

Original before doing anything. The back cushions are pulled out, nothing wrong with them, it was the seat that was completely failing:

Kept the same couch / hide-a-bed. Nothing wrong with the frame or the actual cushions, only the material covering it. So, after my fix:

It took about an hour to do it. We got the self-adhesive vinyl material from Amazon. The only problem with it is, once it touches a surface, it's there to stay. So applying on a couch or chair REALLY does take 2 people to handle it. And if the sticky side touches the sticky side, it's near impossible to pull them apart. So... measure, measure, measure, then cut to size and have help applying.

This was a LOT cheaper than purchasing new furniture, especially these 2 couches that are in teh upper living room slide outs and are built specifically to fit those slides.

I have the same problem, and it is a common issue. It happened to my theater seats as well. I replaced the theater seats with real leather recliners. The couch I will use slip covers. I have tried the vinyl patch but after a while it came up when the “pleather” underneath came loose and just stuck to the patch adhesive. My experience is that short of replacing the couch, slip covers are about the only long term option. There are some nice slip covers out there.

That is my greatest concern. It's been more than half a year and the couch is used every day since. So far, so good. I do dread the day I'll have to discard these 2 couches. They are built so unique for the slide out, replacing will be extremely difficult or I'll have to make the actual floor of the slide outs larger to accommodate a more conventional item of furniture.

I needed a new recliner in the rig a few years back. I deliberately avoid pleather stuff and bought a Lazyboy cloth chair.

First, make no repairs, it will void the offer. Contact them and they will offer 50% off a replacement. It is key that you do not put tape or anything on the damaged area. They no longer use that material so the replacement will not have that problem.
