How does one go about ordering a panel that was damaged when the right rear snap pad came off while driving and damaged panel? I live in the Anchorage area and would like to do the maintenance myself so not excited about taking to the few RV repair facilities around that take way too long to order and complete maintenance. Can I order directly from manufacturer or other parts distributor? Just returned from 192 day travels and 17,800 miles and ready to start service and repairs.

Thanks,
Tom

Are you referring to the "J" wrap panel below the floor level on your 2020 3221? You can order it from a RV dealer but it likely will come as a 16' piece and shipping cost may surprise you. I would try to find a left over piece from a dealer or auto repair place (they may be able to bend exisiting stock to match?).

Go to Karen's RV there in Anchorage and they can either take care of it or give you some other options. I decided to fight with a water pipe in Seward while backing and the pipe won. Took it to Karens RV and they had to order an entire left rear lower quarter panel and mounted same. They did a fantastic job

I don't think so. I just dropped a picture, sorry for not doing that initially.

Otherwise known as 6 Robblee's?
I buy parts there but never had repair or service work.

Your J-wrap doesn't look that badly damaged. Photo's may be deceiving though. If you are insistent on replacing, then why not try a self-fix first. If it works, then you've saved yourself some money. If it doesn't work, then you've lost nothing to begin with.

Remove the panel, lay it on a flat surface, and with hammer, a few choice pieces of wood, pound away and refashion the J-wrap, removing the dents. JB weld for metal (or if you have the ability to weld aluminum), you can close up any ripped out holes or cracks. Careful work, and then finally spray paint can restore the damage to looking like new.

Personally, I'd try that first, before going through the expense of getting new material and the cost of shipping.

The second alternative is to just leave it the way it is and forget it. I dented up both of my rear corners (I still do not know what that actually happened). I broke out one side marker light too. I replaced the marker light and with just a bit of pushing and pounding, I was able to remove most of the dents, spray painted and resealed. Yes, the dents are still there, but they are not as noticeable. It's been 5 years since I did that.

Good luck, which ever avenue you choose.

Thanks DutchmenSport! Since I just got home on Thursday night, can't talk to my two local repair shops for their recommendations, however I was thinking the same as you. Remove panel and use one of my many hammers to take care of it. Most of the bad looking damage is on the underneath side of panel; out of view. How does one go about getting matchable paint?

Yup, that is what is called a "J" wrap panel. It is just sheet metal with a rolled bottom edge resembling the letter J. That piece is easily removed. It is difficult to see the damage in the picture, but if it is the tear on the bottom near the front, it might be repairable,

You might not be able t match the original color of paint. Even if you had the original color codes, it still won't match because the camper paint has faded over the years.

What you "can" do is find a contrasting color and paint that panel only. Then, paint the same panel on the opposite side at the same time. With both sides done the same, it might look like it belongs. In time, you could repaint all the J-trim and then everything will match.

My J-trim is a dark brown color. When I repainted both of my end-panels, I used original "Professional" Rust-o-lium black. When I "first" spray painted, the black was really black. After a week, the black blended with the original deep brown, the sun faded a little and then it ended up matching almost perfect. I got lucky (maybe) .... or just a good call on the paint.

After that, I started repainting everything made of metal on the camper with Professional black Rust-o-lium, especially where the frame was exposed. It blended in so well, after a week and a bit of dirt, it's near impossible to tell what was original, and what was repainted.

But one thing is certain, you'll never color match the original as it exist on the camper today. Good luck!

It looks like you have full body paint; a new panel would have to be painted. I damaged mine a couple years ago; took it off, straightened it out and can hardly see the damage. Taking the panel off is only about a 30 min job. You have nothing to lose by trying to straighten it; if you don't like the results, then go looking for a new one.

I took my rig to a paint store and they matched the color. Much easier if you take just the panel tho! LOL

I have a 2021 3121rl and backed into a bank damaging the Jwrap and a trim piece on the rear corner, drivers side. I had my local RV dealer, also a Keystone dealer, order it from Keystone for me. Like Carl said it was a 16’ piece but since I only needed about 40” we had them cut it into 3 pieces roughly 6’ each to ease the shipping cost and not have to build a crate to put it in. If I remember correctly, with shipping it cost about $300 including the trim piece but that was 2 years ago.
It’s pretty easy to change out, it’s aluminum and can be cut with tin snips. There are a couple of U shaped cutouts on the underside for the frame. I just layed the old panel over the new and marked those with a sharpie then cut them out. And one hole for the side marker light.
I could be wrong, but the finish may be other than paint, maybe an anodize??. Doesn’t look painted to me. I suppose Keystone could answer that.
Sounds like you have a plan to remove and repair. If interested I still have 2 six foot pieces and I’d be willing to let go of one. But I have no box to ship in and I’m in Virginia-long way from Anchorage….

As Carl & Susan mentioned, I went to a local RV dealer and found a leftover piece they had laying around the yard. Paid em’ $20 for the piece. Then tried different close spray can colors and darker-lighter base color and got a real close match. That was about 1 1/2 years ago and can’t even tell today.

When we had a blowout our right rear panel was destroyed. Got a sheet metal shop to bend a new one. Then went to Home Depot to get paint matched.
