Really need some advise. My slides work good on the inward travel. On the out travel, the coil seems to stick as when you let off the button it keeps going out for a few feet or more. I've been dealing with it for years and finally figured out that the coil probably is sticking some. Could be dangerous, as a few years ago, a TV fell against the slide out and wouldn't stop until it tore some things up. The problem I have is that the coil is no longer produced/available. there are other coils similar by the same manufacturer but don't know it they will work. Already called them with no help. The coil I need is a White/Rodgers 120-105212-1. They make a 120-105112-1 but the coil terminal is isolated instead of grounded. Will it work, what changes will I need to make?

Maybe they are solenoids, which makes more sense. Of course a solenoid is inside a coil???? lol

I agree with twindman. A solenoid is simply a coil of wire surrounding a cavity in which resides a metal rod. When the coil is energized it creates a strong magnetic field that pulls the metal rod in one direction. And likely has a spring that pushes the rod back when the coil is de-energized. That rod is typically connected to some device so that that device is actuated when the solenoid coil is energized and the metal rod moves. In the case of hydraulic slides it would actually move the hydraulic oil valves to allow oil to be pumped in the desired direction.

They are typically called solenoids, but like many things are often referred to by different names.
