New Montana 5th Wheel Owners!
Hi New Montana owner... 3400RL, bought a Dodge Ram 3500 to pull with. My wife, Beverly and I will be traveling the South Eastern US. I am a salesman and will be using the 5th wheel instead of Hotel rooms. Never attempted this before, Ha! am 58 yrs young and going on a new adventure. Any words of wisdom for a newby will be appreciated.

Welcome to the MOC,
Congrats on the 3400, I'm sure you will have more fun and enjoy the rig than any hotel could provide. If you have done the Hotel thing for any length of time you will appreciate returning to your own clean bed after a day of meetings.
Your expenses should drop and you will have a better quality of life.
I hope the Misses enjoys the Montana and traveling. I know she will appreciate having a home on the road where ever that may bring you. I can't think of any negatives in your decision.
Travel well. I hope your schedule allows you to explore the areas you visit.
Take your time and enjoy this new venture / adventure.
You will always be home on the road.
Good luck and safe travels.
Chris

Welcome Lee & Beverly to the MOC family.
You already made the right decision on the make and model of your new home and I don't think it will be long when you realize you made the right decision on your new lifestyle. Only being a fulltimer for the past 19 months, I often wish I had the kind of job that would have afforded me the oppurtunity to work, travel and fulltime at the same time.

Welcome aboard Lee and Beverly! Congratualtions on your new Monty - the 3400 is one of my favorites and it will make a great apartment on wheels. Know you will find it far superior to hotel rooms. Enjoy and many happy, safe travels to you ......

Congratulations on your beautiful new pull toy. Welcome to the forum and the world of Montana Madness. You came to the right place for wise counsel. These folks on the forum are very creative and helpful.
My first small contribution is to say, "Make a checklist for any multi-phasal protocols, especial the setup and take down routines." When I am tired or in somewhat of a hurry, I have a tendency to overlook some very important detail or get things out of sequence. The last item on my list is "walk around the rig and look."
The second bit of counsel I share is to read this site regularly. These folks will answer questions you haven't thought to ask. In my philosophy, avoidance of problems is better that recovering from them.
Have a great new adventure!!!

Welcome! Contrary to what another brand may say, you truly have a "Mobile Suite"! Make sure you take time to enjoy your surroundings, where ever you are.

Welcome aboard - great new unit. We have had our 3400 for almost a year now and absolutely love it. For doing work, it is nice with the corner desk and connection port. Have fun and don't work too hard.
