You can only Edit a Post for a short time after it is created. After that, the software will prevent any update. This can be overcome but it requires a Mod to enable an update. The HUGE downside of doing an update this way is the update is not flagged as a change. That means it doesn't show up as an Unread Post on any of the forum views. Consequently other members will not be able to notice, or be altered if they are Subscribed to the Thread, that the content has been changed.
In most cases you are better off just adding a new Post to your original Thread with what ever update you want to make. If you really want to update the original Post, let me, or one of the Mods know, and we can accommodate you.
