Trip from Quartzsite to the Desert Bar "Nellie e Saloon"
For 2022, Jack & David will lead the caravan from Quartzsite to the Nellie E Saloon/Desert Bar. The trip is scheduled for Saturday 22 January 2022. We will be departing the campground at 10:00am....that means we will be lined up and ready to go, not "a fixin' to get ready to go". In years past we have had large caravans, so carpooling is highly encouraged.
The Desert Bar is one of the unique places that is a must do at least once. It is located in the desert about 5 miles off AZ 95 just North of Parker. Once you leave the pavement you will be on a dirt road, but the road is maintained and in good condition that can be traveled in a passenger car.
The "Nellie E Saloon" is situated in the Buckskin Mountains, in Parker, Arizona, on land that was an old mining camp. The camp was located on the portion of land that is now the parking lot. Parking is free, but the lot fills up fast which is why it is important for us to leave camp on time. Prices are reasonable and they do have a pretty good variety of food (hamburgers, hotdogs, sandwiches, fries, etc.), soft drinks, beer and a bar. CASH ONLY, NO CREDIT CARDS!!! They do have enclosed restrooms with running water and solar and generator power.
The Desert Bar is open October thru April, Saturdays and Sundays only, from “HIGHNOON” till 6pm, Arizona time. They also have live entertainment and dancing from about 1pm until closing. Here is a link to their website with much more information and some history of the property: http://www.thedesertbar.com/
If you are planning to make the trip with us just reply to this post and let us know so we can get a head count and can make sure we have others that have been there before strategically placed in the caravan so that nobody gets lost on the way there.
We are looking forward to introducing the newcomers to this unique and one-of-a-kind place and welcoming back those that have been before! If you have any questions about this trip, don't hesitate to ask.
Jack & David

Terrie and I are planning to attend. We have to wait to be sure as we don’t know what the NFL playoffs will look like. I know, a strange comment, but our son works for TB Bucs and we usually see him on TV 4 or 5 times per game.

We were trying to go last 2 years, but with all the Covid junk, did not get to go. Live now in Lake Havasu, we will get it done

We've spend the week after Christmas at the Buckskin State park for the last several year and always make Nellie a stop. Like Jack said it's a fun place for an outing. Good food, live music and a lot of people usually. A very unique place. All of you who go will not regret it in my opinion - have fun.

I kind of hope he doesn't sell. Places never seem to be the same without the original persons vision. But life moves on.............
