Mods and Repairs
One of the things that has been lost at the National Rally as it has become more structured is helping one another with projects, from repairs to modifications. So, I am offering my assistance for anyone that would like help with those types of activities. We have been very fortunate with our new 3230CK to have already gotten more mods done than any previous unit. If I need to bring any special tools, give me a heads up. I’m hoping to perform the Marlin Water Pump Mod this week, which is our last mod for awhile. We have the ARP Fridge Defender being installed in Montana in June and IS in July.
So, if you wanted LED lights in your basement, plexiglass on your door, hooks on your walls, or assistance with projects, lets get’r done.

DW would like the plexiglass on the screen door.
Have you got a source available?

Ron M.-- Check with Dennis Z. He got me the material and we put it in at a National Rally one year. I think it was Lexon and not plexiglass since the plexiglass will not bend if you want it in the grooves on the door. I have the cutting tool in my toolbox to cut it if needed.
Ron A-- Watch how they put in your ARP so we can put the one in that I have while at the CPRR. Check to see if extra wires are needed and etc also. Thanks!

Ron, I’ll try and video it. As for the door covering, we velcroed to the face.

I have been thinking about getting one of those and adding a couple of fans to the outside and inside my fridge
Can you upload a copy of that to the files folder
https://www.montanaowners.com/forums/downloads.php?do=cat&id=3
Thanks.

checked w/Dennis Z. and he no longer works where he got the Lexan before.

Our 13 3402 is just a Rv to transport us from one place to another. We also winter in it in a warm place. The only significant mod has been the Mor Ryde IS suspension. The worst problem was the kitchen slide jumping the slide gears. Lippert got us repaired quick time. Our Montana's have been good to us.

John Kohl downloaded it for me from the ARP Fridge Defend site I believe. I also added three external fans and two of the fans that go in the fridge. They are all controlled by the ARP and came with the ARP.

Ron M-- That is a BIG sheet of Lexon (4ft X 8ft). Maybe you can cut yours out of it and still be able to sell the rest to others.

I don't think that you can get two doors from one sheet. I removed the screen and installed the flexible material that is used for the windows in enclosed porches. On our old rig, I installed plexiglass with velcro on the door in case we wanted to remove it. In ten years, we never did.

We have a local plastics place. I had three pieces cut. I traced a piece of cardboard for the curve at the top. They cut three rectangles and put the top curves on. We used 1/8” plexiglass. My guess is we could find a plastics place to do this in the Omaha area.

I’m interested in a small piece for bottom of my screen door. How do you cut it?

You can buy a special knife that is used to cut it. It actually scores the plastic or Lexon and once you get it scored partway through you take a straight edge and snap it. IF you don't get it scored deep enough you can break it unevenly and waste that sheet so you must be very precise and score it correctly.

It can be cut with a saber saw and a very fine blade or a Dremel tool.

Thanks Larry! We'll check it out at the ACE Hardware in Nebraska City to see if they stock it.

I’m willing to participate. I have a voltage meter I’d like to install but need help routing the data cable from the shunt to meter. I also need a hole saw (2.25” I think) to mount the meter next to the In-command display.
