What's The Point ?
Why do we all have the following "labels" below our ID's ?
New member
Seasoned Camper
Established Member
Montana Fan
Montana Master
I can see a purpose for the New Member moniker. Provide solid advice not opinion, walk them through the "newbie" process, provide encouragement, etc.
As far as the rest, what's the point ?
Do they denote our RVing experience level ?
Do they denote our knowledge level in regards to Montanas ?
Are they supposed to instill in us a sense of trust for the "higher" ranks ?
The more you post, the more you know about Montanas ?
Some folks have posted numerous times a day just get the Montana Master moniker, but a lot of those posts have nothing to do with passing along Montana knowledge. Am I supposed to trust them ?
There could be folks out there who has forgotten more about Montanas than all of us will ever know about Montanas. But, because that they only post a couple times a month they are labeled a Seasoned Camper. Am I not supposed to trust them ?
What's the point ?
Ready, go !

Still laughing over the responses. Thank you moc for making my day. Oh yeah, I pay no attention to those things...most times I don't even pay attention to myself. Tried that with the wife and you already know what that got me.

Dick and Rich are definitely among the evil ones on the forum judging by post count.

We know Dick well and he is defiantly evil .I have been on the forum since 2005 so that gave me plenty of time to do a lot of post.

Both Rich and Dick are still behind Steve Reigle. But Rich is close.

I Have never even payed attention to to that. Just because they have a low post count or not. I don't think it's knowing just about Montana's more about RV's in general since most RV have the sames mechanical's. We are all here to help each other weather you know alot on know nothing. i'v been RVing for 40 plus year's and they come out with new stuff every year. Some times you don't about it till someone new to the group brings it up. Do we need more popcorn.

I'll go one step even further and say that it is more about being mechanically inclined. I can attest that DQDick definitely has a good deal of knowledge of how things work!
On the other hand, there are lots of folks out there that may have been camping for years but couldn't change a light bulb.

Just because you have a title does not always mean you can do the work. I learned that in my line of work.

I thought you were talking about name tags for the rally.

Oh, so true. I worked for a company that allowed people to work their way up thru the ranks to an engineering position without a BS degree. And most of our better engineers were those people, with real world experience over those with book learning. Sometimes the BS behind the name meant something besides bachelor of science.

New member==Newbie to the site. May have been camping for years. Got bored did an internet search and landed here
Seasoned Camper== has asked a number of questions. Has answered a few. Will actually think that jumping onto Tire type or GVWR discussions that one can change someone's mind
Established Member==Asks fewer questions, but still has not done AC Mod, still jumps on on Tire and GVWR discussions, has expressed willingness to go to rally
Montana Fan== Has done the AC Mod, is still confused about winterizing, participates in tire and GVWR discussions, but only to stand his ground. May have gone to a rally or 2
Montana Master== has done the AC Mod. may be able to explain winterizing. Says here we go again when GVWR or tires are mentioned, will chime in only if the discussion seems to be waning.
Most likely has gone to a Rally and may have helped out. Rolls eyes when someone asks about removing coroplast nails, but will respond anyway
