We are on Hwy 26 - thank you for the advice about 20 being desert and 26 being forests - it was gorgeous! We stopped in John Day for the night at their fairground campsites and it is nice. We hope to head over to 101 and see the coast before getting to Coos Bay on Sunday. Anyone have any advice on a spot to stop for the night between here and Coos Bay along that route? 26 to 20 to 101??
Thank you in advance! Excited to see everyone!!!

We are currently over-nighting at a sno-park at the Hoodoo ski area west of Sisters on 126. Perfect spot, about 64 degrees now. We will take 126 to the coast tomorrow and pull into Coos Bay. Stayed last night at a sno-park at the top of Blue Mountain Pass about 20 miles west of Unity; also very nice.

We went the southern route. Spending a week on BLM near Burns before heading into Coos Bay via 20, 126, I5, 38, 101.
Lots of sun and temps in the 80’s.

Carl- Bare with me I am still a nervous Nellie (no offense anyone) Looking at the map to cut over to Cape Arago Hwy via Hwy 101 I can use Newmark St? If I am reading the map correctly it looks like Newmark turns in to Cape Arago..
Never could read a Map.. Give me a Schematic I can follow one of those all day long -- go figure.. Thanks Leanne

Newmark will work fine coming from the south. As I recall it has a bit of hill at the start and then it is fine.

How about 138 to Eugene
Any comments on 138 north of Crater Lake to Eugene? We will be coming from La Pine?
Otherwise, we will take 58 to Eugene.
We like scenic routes.

20 top 126 may be good. Don't go west on 20 past the 126 junction unless you like sunken grades and tight switchbacks. You might also want to consider getting off 20 and onto 22 to Salem and then take I-5 south. Distance vs. travel time may work out about the same.
