Also my DVD player doesn't work like it wasn't hooked up to the TV. There is no input like a secondary HDMI source to select

Hello Everyone
I have a 2019 3121RL with the same issues with sound. The TV looks great in the cabinet, however you loose all the sound in the back. (Very poor planning) The radio/CD/DVD system and speakers Montana uses are junk. Very disappointed with the poor quality. My solution was to install a VIZO 2.1 sound bar. (Walmart $98) I used the optic output from the TV to the sound bar. I turn down the volume on the TV and use the sound bar volume. Works great and the sound is now outstanding.
Hope this helps
Good luck

ArkansasNWA...Thanks for explaining your fix. I am planning to get a sound bar but unsure which is the optic output on the back. If you have a chance to snap a photo of that port on your tv, I would love to see that. Thanks.

Optic input
Here are pics of an optic cable and an optic input on a TV (pic from web search not the TV in my Monte). I use a Bose solo sound bar sitting behind the TV and hooked up thru the optic input ( + I think I turned the TV speakers off thru the TV menu setup somewhere). Got the Bose at Sams for about $200 to use in my previous RV and moved it to the Monte.

The pics mikendebbie sent are what you want to look for on your TV. The optical cable is basically a fiber cable that carries the audio through a light source. You need to be careful when installing the cable because is is very sensitive to bending. The end connectors will only connect in one position so make sure you do not damage the tips. The cable is a bit pricey, but the results are great.
I mounted my sound bar above the TV on the slide header and run the cables (optic and power) around the back side of the slide; They hide neatly. The only drawback, which is minor, I install/reinstall the sound bar each time I move the RV.
Best to you

Thanks Mikeanddebbie. I see what you are referring to, but unfortunately I don't have a slot for optic cable on my tv. All I see is a red & white plug in for audio out. Looks like they didn't put the latest type of tv in our 2019 3790RD. Will research if any sound bars still use those type of cables.

My problem is there is no optic input on the TV to plug my soundbar into. I use a digital rf cable to the sound bar and TV but still get no sound out of it. I tried the HDMI ARC and it doesn't work. Its like the hoke unit isn't hooked up. How do you access the back of the stereo unit or take it out?

When we took delivery of our unit, I found the HDMI cable from the TV to the Jensen DVD player/stereo was not connected. I removed the screws holding the DVD player pulled it forward and made the connection. Trying to play a DVD movie (not Blueray) was how we discovered the issue. With that connection the ARC mode allows TV sound through Stereo

There are two plastic caps covering screws that hold the DVD unit on the front sides. I popped them off and removed the screws. The HDMI cable was sitting in hole in the back and was not connected to the obvious input in the DVD stereo.

I got my son to figure out both how to hook up the Sound bar and also discovered the HDMI cable had fallen out. Thanks for all everyone's input.

Hi Donmar how did you get to the back of the radio? The cabinet around ours is stapled. The HDMI ARC cable is going to the back of the radio but it is not showing up as an option in the AUX options on the radio.

Hi JMGray... supposedly a new radio, new speakers and cable installed last August. Couldn't tell any difference so i bought a sound bar and use that for tv volume. I can stream music to it, as well.
